PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

It's mad to think how shit we were then.
Going to Stockport and macc were real lows for me.
And at that time the rags were at the top of the tree.
I felt we as fans stood together.
We all pulled as one.
In defiance against the rags who were laughing at us.
We stuck together.
The bond at that time between the fans and the club/players was incredible.
So different to now.
It feels like a life time ago.
Almost like we were watching a different game to what football has become.
They were some of the best days I've ever had as a city fan.
Even though we were really shit.
They were my really shit team.
I felt part of it.
Part of a connection with every blue in the ground.
I don't anymore
The bond wasn’t there. We booed them off. We booed them on sometimes. They hated playing at Maine Road. Romance has made that time special but for most of it, until Spring 99 really, Maine Road was toxic.

Is correct. Richard Edghill knows, unable to come out for the second half against Coventry because of the abuse he'd been getting.

Rose tinted memories a bit there.

The opposite of love isn't hate. It's indifference.

Most fans I knew absolutely hated that time. Hated the players, the managers, the board, the pisstakes.

It was mega going to the game because people were fuming. It was toxic. But because of that the atmosphere's were lively, especially away from home.

"We're shit, and we're sick of it" used to get sung regularly. Hardly the stuff of fans and club being bonded.

But during Pearce, Pellegrini's last two years, and this season, people have become indifferent. Apathetic. Which is arguably worse than toxic.

Pep Made loads of subs because we had massive fixture congestion. That’s the season we won the treble and we did it by keeping players fresh all season. It was sensible management.
Take your point DD, if we made those 5 changes this season it would be carnage.

So, engaging Mrs Merton kinda vibes, and I'm slurping a few Superbocks, let's have a heated debate and look at this in more depth.

We replaced injured Walker with Gomez in the 41st minute, at 3-0 up. We conceded our customary goal, but put 3 more in to put the rags back in their box.

We then took KDB, Foden, Grealish and Gundo off in the 75th minute, leaving our defence intact. Supports your view you might think...until you note that they were replaced by Mahrez, Alvares, Cole Palmer and Laporte.

Barely noticeable drop off in quality who should have easily held off a beaten, knackered and poorly coached rag team who just wanted the game to end.

So, yes it still pisses me off that we didn't match or better the 6-1 swamp result. We should've put the bastards to the sword, curled a turd on their collective heads and shafted them to oblivion.

God willed it that day and we failed him.

Love you.

It's definitely a barm... is this a fact or my opinion?
It’s you stating a fact. But either way it’s a poor post, because what you should write is “in my opinion it’s definitely a barm”, to make it clear to everyone you’re talking shite.

Btw, what about the other question I asked you earlier on? I case you’ve forgotten it, it was “how do you know?”

I’ve never been so furious after beating United as I was that day.
I will never know how we let them score 3 goals.
The Cup Final win upset me more. Three minutes after Gundogan's goal on 13 seconds Dias put a header just past the post and Haaland missed two chances a few minutes later. Could have been 4-0 after a quarter of an hour, in which case City would have run up a record score and the rag end of Wembley would have emptied at half time. The opportunity to humiliate them before the watching world was lost.

Spot on. During that dark period we had plenty of mercenaries who played for our club and didn’t give a shit. Too many to mention. Our fans were mostly great but the club treated us with contempt. It started with Swales and lasted till 1999. There was no bond. The club was toxic and dying, I am sick of all these total myths. Whatever criticism people make about the current regime they are saints compared to the cowboys of the past.

Mate, that’s a bunch of first teamers replaced by reserves, whichever way you look at it. I do agree though, that if it had been at a different time of the Season, we would have bettered the 6-1.

It was worth it for that night in Istanbul though.

But that doesn't mean we will be found guilty.
If the PL asked for city to give them access to every email ever sent, every text message sent and every piece of paper stored at the club, city would have been well within their rights to say no and the IC would back city up on that
That would be a losing argument. The rules state if the PL asks for any information then city must supply it in a timely manner. That includes emails, texts, wages contracts, everything. The way to argue it is the rule for full document disclosure only existed from October 2020. So there was no reason to supply the documents before that date. Whether that. Nobody knows what the non cooperation charges are actually for though so it could be something completely unrelated to document supplying. It could be not turning up for interviews for instance

In the main the opposite, at least face to face with their opponent at the end of a contested hearing. Partly for reasons of good manners/convention, and so as not to build themselves up for a fall, and because the only way people can improve is to be self critical to some extent.

Same principle applies with the client. Their expectations need to be managed, not heightened. So best not to give it the Billy Big Bollocks at the end.

So, no every lawyer does not say they did well. Plenty do, but plenty absolutely don’t, even if they are quietly confident.

Why make yourself so readily a hostage to fortune?
Fair enough
