Russian invasion of Ukraine

Easy to believe after watching **** after **** getting wheeled out in front of the cameras in the last 6 weeks
The thing that is conspicuously excluded from that preposterous assertion is the fact that Europe is already at war with Russia and has been for most of this century. When you look at the active and material ways they have tried to destabilise our societies and institutions for the last couple of decades (which is still very much ongoing) there is no other rational conclusion to draw.

So framing the conversation around their military capacity to march across Europe is hopelessly simplistic and naive. How is a continent supposed to respond to these levels of hostility and aggression, when the perpetrator has a sustained track record of not keeping to any agreement it makes?

The only answer is to do so in a way that adequately responds to those threats and hopefully deters them.

Europe needs to, belatedly, stand up to this targeted and sustained campaign against it.

Officially! The settlement of Nadiya in Luhansk Oblast has been liberated!

The Third Assault Brigade reports: the brigade, primarily the 1st Assault Battalion, has regained control over the settlement of Nadiya.

The total area liberated from the enemy is three square kilometers.

“Taking Nadiya cost the enemy two months of effort and two mechanized regiments — the 752nd and 254th of the 20th Army of the Russian Federation — wiped out,” — Commander of the Third Army Corps Andrey Biletsky.

The first footage from the 30-hour operation is in this video.

More details will be available on YouTube from the Third Assault Brigade later!

Sir Keir Starmer's plan for an international force to support a ceasefire in Ukraine has been dismissed as "a posture and a pose" by Donald Trump's special envoy.

Steve Witkoff said the idea was based on a "simplistic" notion of the UK prime minister and other European leaders thinking "we have all got to be like Winston Churchill".

In an interview with pro-Trump journalist Tucker Carlson, Witkoff praised Vladimir Putin, saying he "liked" the Russian president.

"I don't regard Putin as a bad guy," he said. "He's super smart."

Witkoff, who met Putin 10 days ago, said the Russian president had been "gracious" and "straight up" with him. Putin told him, he added, that he had prayed for Trump after an assassination attempt against him last year. He also said Putin had commissioned a portrait of the US president as a gift and Trump was "clearly touched by it".

During the interview, Witkoff repeated various Russian arguments, including that Ukraine was "a false country" and asked when the world would recognise occupied Ukrainian territory as Russian.

Apart from being wrong, this tedious argument conspicuously ignores the fact that Ukrainians simply don’t want to be part of Russia - and who the fuck in their right minds would do?

You would have to be clinically insane to want to be part of that.

From America or Russia?
Or both?

On an individual basis just boycott anything American. Europe is getting interference from both sides now. Obvious interference. We’re getting a very noticeable red media offensive from the US. The messages are going out thick and fast trying to undermine all things EU.

Refusal to prosecute war criminals and calls to give the russians part of Ukraine work exactly as intended. as an encouragement to the russians to further incite the war. The fact that some are trying to save the russians from defeat is perceived by them not as a chance for peace but as a chance to destroy Ukraine. The russians do not need any peace. The stories that they will stop if they are allowed to annex 5 Ukrainian territorial units are a stupid and brazen lie. It's the same as believing that Hitler will stop at the occupation of the Sudetenland.

Agree with all that, but even if they were to stop at those five territories it wouldn’t stop them being cunts to everyone else. It’s too ingrained in their mode of behaviour for that not to be the case. This is what’s so preposterous about people arguing we shouldn’t increase our ability to defend ourselves just because the Russian military capability has been so compromised. Just because they couldn’t take Poland in three days doesn’t mean they don’t represent a wider threat to our way of life. They’ve been acting like cunts for so long because we’ve allowed them to.

More prof that the entirety of Trump's cabinet is Pro-Russian.
