We never did get the full story on that did we? Fixer had posted on here for years before that and it seemed massively out of character. One prominent poster even said that no way would he lie about something like that as he knows him. Whether he meant he knew him personally or just off here I don't know. Then of course Bill (bless him) offered to go round and check up on him. I'm not sure he actually got as far as doing that. A sinister fallout from it all were some sick United fans putting two and two together and making five, saying Fixer was actually Bill and that he invented the story because City had lost the Old Trafford derby earlier in the day (the Rooney shinner IIRC) and he wanted to deflect from the result. As if Bill - a veteran of attending many derby defeats - would let the result get to him that much. Speaking to him some months later, he said the fuckers did an Adam Teese on him and got a load of pizzas delivered to his carpet shop.
