President Trump

Even the brain-dead MAGA f*ckwits will get fed up with them ...
The problem with this sort of analysis is that you put yourself in the position of someone supporting an opposition point of view.

You image yourself as a member of the opposition, supporting their claims, and then this - a major political disaster occurs.

You conclude... well there's no way that support can possibly continue.

WRONG!!!

MAGA has numerous false information sites dedicated to spreading their narrative.

Should some huge blunder occur, those sites will immediately begin to spin the story. And the majority of MAGA will lap it up.

There is hope though. A small fraction of Americans are in fact undecided - wavering for or against a party. And this small fraction isn't so drunk on the MAGA Kool aide that they will not vote against MAGA if their personal outcome seems worse under MAGA rule.

TL/DR - this latest fuckup by team MAGA is far removed from elections. Whatever transpires is unlikely to influence midterm votings.

Instead of this issue - look at the state of the economy - that will control midterm voting. If the economy is worse than it is now - and there's every reason to believe that it will be - MAGA is going to lose numerous House and Senate seats.

Yet the above analysis is contingent upon whether or not votes still matter in the midterms. Team MAGA is in position to make vote outcomes irrelevant and they sure as hell are pursuing this goal.
For what it's worth, I did actually refer to the economy

The majority of the population have no real ties to Denmark and are Inuit (though Danish passport holders), but they have no interest in being part of the US at all.

Many of their settlements had Danish/viking names until a decade or so ago, but they now have Inuit names, the vikings left long before it became Danish. The US have one base there, and even it has been renamed (Pituffik), but it still hosts the northern most US ICBM warning site.

I don't know how much people know about Greenland, probably not much, but it's quite interesting if that's your thing. The "Cities" are incredible well spread out, with no road connections, so only really connected by Air Greenland, who basically operate a bus service with fixed and rotary wing daily.

There's only one major hospital, based in the capital (other smaller ones), so serious illness/injury generally requires air ambulance to the capital, and really serious stuff they need to go to Copenhagen, a 5 hour flight away, not sure why they cant go to Iceland (closer), but it might be a visa thing.

Google street view covers most of the settlements, it's quite an interesting look round if interested.

I'm glad they are "fuck trump".
Denmark is responsible for Greenland’s foreign relations and defence. All domestic issues are dealt with by Greenland.
When Trump says Denmark stops them mining he is, as usual, talking nonsense. The lack of mining development is a choice supported by more than 50% of the population. Trump’s promise to kick start mining will not make him popular.

Trump is floating balloons - to see what's popular - and to pave the way for eventual action.

Invade Canada, Greenland and Panama - Trump would do this in a heartbeat if he thought he could get away with it. For now, he floats little teasers - bit by bit building support for an invasion/takeover.

Mining is a global industry anyway, if it was viable to mine in Greenland (and some does take place), companies (not countries) would be there doing so (no matter where the company is based nationally).

For reasons best known to me (mainly aviation based), I've recently done quite a bit of research into the country. I recently watched a science/history documentary that increased my interest further, and trump has added to that, because they have a small population doesn't mean he can easily "invade", whilst similar in climate to Alaska, it's nothing like it otherwise, the only transport connections are plane and ship, and in town road transport. I think the longest road is about 200 KM, and the country/island is over 2500 km long, and 1000 km wide.

Well, this is hilarious. I've no idea how cases are allocated in the US, so if this is someone trolling the regime, or cosmic karma, but the same judge presiding over the illegal deportations case (1) has been allocated to the Signal group chat case (2).

In (1) the regime is arguing that the flights were so secret they can' give any details even now, like when they took off and landed.

In (2) the regime needs to argue that the exact timing of a military attack is not confidential!

I don't know how these cases are allocated, but Trump would love everything to go to this judge - he could then simply dismiss every single case as 'just another witchhunt' and his lot would be happy with that.
Btw - I hate the right-wing US media too - they are responsible for Trump not being humiliated as a lunatic, but instead hailed as some kind of infallible Messiah. To think that these idiots, via MAGA, have such a global influence <shakingHeadEmoji>

Watching the security personnel on CNN at the moment - very satisfying watching them transition into 'cover my own arse' mode...

Cab rank principle.
First judge in the queue with available time gets the next case.

standard Trump thing - be it including journo's in defence briefings of this it " I don't know - you are telling me this I don't know about it" - its a variation on the "don't know the guy never met him" then the pictures or pfoof that he lying emerges .........

It's unbelievable that he's actually talking about America and not some tin pot south American country, but here we are. I really do hope people stop going to America and places like Disney world tank.
30 years married this year and we were considering America but it can fuck off

Spend my pounds for what they worth elsewhere

Cases are allocated at random, but the DC circuit is usually the first stop for cases related to federal overreach and it's stacked with Democratic appointees, so Trump has a long four years ahead of him.

Mike Johnson Speaker of the House has today suggested a remedy. He said “We can eliminate an entire federal district court”
According to Johnson the legislative branch has the power to do this. He was unable to cite where the constitution says this.
The shit is about to hit the fan and America may soon officially announce the end of democracy: Don’t like a court’s ruling? We’ll just eliminate the court then.
Maga tactics leave something to be desired. They are banking on SCOTUS to bail them out. If they don’t, will the executive eliminate SCOTUS too?
Hey SCOTUS, we have come to you because the trial courts no longer exist. Help us out, mates.
The end of America may not be close, but you can see it from here. Desperate times.
