Put it this way, when you are doing this sort of stuff, you are in a sealed room with all PEDs removed.

This is one of the biggest, if not the biggest security breach that has happened in modern times. Usually a security breach would come from somebody low down in the chain, and an innocent mistake in many cases, but from the positions involved in this, and the manner in which it has happened, this is unprecedented.

A total mess for the likes of 5Eyes, great news for those who oppose them.

The US is no longer seen as the protector of democracy.
Yep, the enemy don’t need an equivalent of Bletchley Park and Enigma code breaking machines when the dumb fuckers just add random people to their non-secure online group chat where the war plans are discussed.

The current security breach fiasco, in which top secret war plans were conducted outside a SCIF, on personal phones using an unapproved application, and furthermore in which a news reporter was mistakenly added to the conversation, and further still, where one of the participants in the conversation was in Russia at the time, is just fucking amazingly bad.

As expected, MAGA officials are bunkering down - following Dear Leader's position.

Who knows what will become of this?

But 20 years ago, should such a fiasco occur - everyone involved would have been removed from office.

I know it doesn't need more proof of incompetence and lies,
but to your knowledge just this one:

https://newsukraine.rbc.ua/news/trump-s-special-envoy-sparked-controversy-1742965059.html

Content from the above newsukraine article:

US Special Envoy Richard Grenell
believes that Ukraine never had nuclear weapons, and the arsenal it once had always belonged to Russia. Politicians and diplomats have reacted emotionally to these statements, according to the politician's social media page on platform X.

In his post, the diplomat decided to clarify the situation with the Budapest Memorandum.

"The nukes were Russia’s and were leftovers. Ukraine gave the nukes back to Russia. They weren’t Ukraine’s. This is an uncomfortable fact," Grenell wrote.

This position of Donald Trump's special envoy sparked a resonant reaction on social media X among politicians and diplomats.

In particular, former US Ambassador to Ukraine, Steven Pifer, stated that Grenell was categorically wrong. The diplomat, who helped negotiate the Budapest Memorandum, added that the nuclear warheads in Ukraine were former Soviet, not Russian.

"Nuclear warheads in #Ukraine were ex-Soviet, not Russian. Warheads in storage were in sole Ukrainian custody. ICBMs and bombers were eliminated in Ukraine except small number sent to #Russia for debt relief," the diplomat wrote.

He emphasized that Ukraine decided to send the nuclear warheads to Russia for disposal largely because Moscow had committed to respecting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity and not using force against the country.

He advised Grenell to study history in full.

To me, the Signal leak was so shocking as it has shown how
that sort of wannabees are working:

their communication didn't sound like a responsible expert group giving orders for a strike that wold kill 53 people and injure 100 in order to maybe do the right thing to some terrorists ("It's not about Houthis!"),

but it was like a cool teens group getting excited playing a new online game. The language used is street level, the whole process is embarrassing.
That was a leading group of the United States of America FFS.

I know, trump and MAGA hate politicians and don't want to be politicians.
It was another serious proof in what direction the supertanker is heading.

Esp. to those hoping the democratic institutions in the US will sort that out, I would recommend expecting the worst.

They are "flooding the zone" knowing democrats will be overwhelmed debating all that and take too long to come to a strong reaction.
Again and again.

20 years ago, such a fiasco would not have happened. It's a Trump thing.

They reckon they are using Signal because the messages delete after so long so if anything goes to trial there is no record, whereas through proper means there is a record, obviously don’t invite someone who would keep a record say a journalist!

Yup. They're fully aware of the illegality of much of their coup, so are deliberately ensuring their actions are not recorded in the usual way to protect from future discovery.

The Supreme Court upheld the Biden administration’s regulation of “ghost guns” in a 7-2 decision Wednesday, rejecting a challenge brought by gun rights groups and several manufacturers.

The future of the crackdown remains hazy, however, as the new Trump administration directs a review of all Biden-era firearm regulations and could look to rescind the restrictions.

The majority comprised Chief Justice John Roberts, the court’s three liberal justices and all three of Trump’s appointees.

Conservative Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito dissented separately, saying they would’ve invalidated Biden’s crackdown.

This CBS article does a better job of explaining the issue.

As a loyal American citizen watching the hearings live right now I think that I can honestly say that American democracy left right and center is fucked.

Doubling down. Apparently its still a hoax. Absolutely fucking mental.

Names or not, the aggregation of elements of sensitive information in that single thread take the classification way above official. He should know that and his gaslighting proves he is absolutely unfit for this job.

Sadly, I have to ask, but did that Q&A actually happen, or is it a spoof convo? Hard to tell anymore!

The handling of this situation, and the general incompetence of the gov't from top to bottom is spectacularly bad. I don't think even the most gifted and imaginative script writer could have come up with this scenario.
