Deyna v Nottingham Forest

Deyna - past his best when he arrived, didn’t play enough (Big Mal toss pot years) but still one of the best players I have ever witnessed in a city shirt.

We didnt go through but he was trying to get us there single handedly in that match, he may well have succeeded only for Hughes to sub him off the absolute arse hat.

Oh and me playing for the kings head in the Buxton taverners league.
Scored from my own half.
And scored 3 direct from corners.
Got sent off for taking my shirt off and pulling it over the refs head .
He couldn't move his arms to get his cards out
Lost 9. 4
But I thought I was amazing.
When I got sent off I asked the manager who this old bloke was on the touchline.
He's a scout from sheff Wednesday.
He's here to watch you.

It’s excrutiatingly hard to find a pass better than that one to Džeko - absolutely sublime
 
Some good memories in this thread.

OP mentions the Weaver performance v Ipswich. I was in the Platt Lane that night and his display was breathtaking - best performance by a goalie I've ever seen.

Going further back, I vaguely remember Peter Barnes tearing AC Milan to shreds in the late 70s.

So many outstanding performances in recent years it's difficult to focus on individual ones - the whole team v Real Madrid in 2023.

Just remembered Bernarbia at Hillsborough, 6-2.

That was football pornography.
Probably the single most amazing bits of skill and control I've seen from a city player.
I remember when he played for us.
A mate of mine a rag who goes home and away.
Used to say to me the one player they feared and the one player he wished played for the was el mago.
By far the best player I've seen in a city shirt.
And when you watch us now.
You realize just how fucking brilliant he was
