Seat Counters - 2024/25

Keep seeing this ad crop up. Decent prices but what about the poor fckers who bought months ago at twice the price?

Hopefully the reality of City's ridiculous matchday pricing will be shown up in the remaining games of the season.

Unfortunate, but it’s more important to fill the stands. Plus, people from outside Manchester often get cheaper travel when they’ve booked their ticket early.

Not sure about that, the message from the club still says the Villa tickets will be "dropped" April 7th, and that Bournemouth and Wolves are "coming soon". Palace released at 2pm today.
Looks like they're sticking to the hugely succesful policy they have onging to fill the ground...
You're right they're still advertising the 'drops' but every game has seats available and they've replaced the 3 week notice undernearth each fixture on the website with a " match tickets available" message. From the looks of the Palace game which officially 'dropped' at 2pm but had tickets available all morning, the "drop" just added even more tickets, presumably exchanges, to the site.

Unfortunately not going to Leicester (H) on principle. I have a flexi gold, wish it was a proper season ticket and unfortunately missed the window to buy, just a busy week when it came up.

Refuse to pay more for my ticket outside of the window when I've already paid the £150 deposit to lower the overall cost of the tickets.

Yeah, looks like a different approach, usually all games are "sold out" until the second drop and exchange tickets released. There might be an outbreak of common sense in the ticket office.
It's still £150 for an adult and 2 kids for the Villa game on a Monday night, way up the back of the East Stand...good luck with that.

Not sure if I've read your post right but there's a ton of tickets available in SS3 block 313 for £30. Leicester returns.

Basically as a flexi gold season ticket holder, City charge you more to sit in your seat if you miss the 4 day window. Usually nearly a tenner more.

I usually sit in the Colin Bell stand, missed my window to purchase, busy week slipped my mind, now no longer discounted.

I know it's my fault for missing the window but I refuse to pay more than the discounted price for my own seat.

The club should be very concerned that £30 tickets have not sold out when they are about to add another 8000 or whatever it is to the capacity. It once again illustrates the damage they have done with their ridiculous pricing policy. I messaged my sister today about the Palace game but she has lost interest. She won’t be the only one.

They can't sell £25 tickets, but think it's ok to still be charging £60 plus for a lower tier game

Tickets on sale in the ticket forum for £20.
So, by missing your window, you could actually pay less!
Fill your boots, get a ticket, do the best thing you’ll ever do that week, I.e. seethe boys- and have a great fucking night at the match.

Make that 3 fans not interested in the league games.

My sister enquired about the Everton game (boxing day) and her ticket would have been £71.00 & 8yr old ticket £38.00 in SS1

She’s never asked since

It is an absolute joke and it will definitely and is having a detrimental effect. When will they actually get a grip of what's actually going on with their own fanbase. I have a season ticket for myself and two children. I would never be able to afford the games if I didn't.

This is the BS we're dealing with, Leicester game midweek Wednesday 2nd April is sold out on the ticket site. So despite paying £35 membership you can't buy tickets from the club, and plan a trip, they give the perception of a sold out event.

BUT the tout sites have 1,000s for sale, £90 in the south stand, no kids or OAP discounts.

Leicester midweek in April would not be rammed even if we were going for the title (think Brentford last year). So the tout sites will not sell out at the extortion prices, thousands will get returned, on top of exchange tickets, and this is why you have available tickets in the numbers we see for Forest tomorrow.

They could sell all the tickets at a fair price, on the official site to genuine blues, but it's worth shifting a few thousand to event tourists at double the price. They genuinely don't care, making a few more quid is what it's about.

Leicester will have thousands of empty seats, guaranteed. They could sell them, at a decent price to members, but they choose not too. Only a few more nights like tomorrow might get their attention.....but I really doubt it. Been going on about 3 years now
Rebooting my old post above from December. The Leicester game was effectively "sold out" since last summer, you couldn't buy ticket on the site, but "here's our hospitality options", or our travel partners and agents have higher priced tickets available.
Now look at it, thousands available. I get it, club can't be blamed for some of it, the top tier of away fans just returned, plus exchange listings, plus unsold hospitality and agency returns, but something is badly wrong, in July we are declaring "sell outs" for all games for the whole season, but they are largely fictional. And the "sell outs" make the buying experience a complete pain in the ass for longstanding loyal matchday buyers, who are trying to get seats together in the right parts of the ground.

If my job was to squeeze the last £ out of it, that's what I'd do, make it look like a "sold out" hot ticket, and drive fans to more expensive options.
If my job was to fill the ground and create an atmosphere, i'd do it very differently.
You can guess where the club priority lies in our ticket sales.

Just a quick count on the Leicester game it is showing at 2,863 left on the planner with 600 £30 ones left and agencys must not of got any tourist for this game as it looks they have gave back there tickets in block 328 and block 135

City has turned away so many local loyal supporters in the pursuit of tourists and this is the reward. You could offer these Leicester tickets for £10 each and they wouldn't shift much because the local fans have sadly now got out the habit of going. Not sure it can be fixed
It can be fixed in the long term. It's up to the club to demonstrate a long term strategy which focuses on protecting local and loyal fans whilst still bringing in huge scores of revenue from the countless hospitality packages they have around the ground.

Unfortunately, there's about as much chance of that happening as us winning the league this season

I think any long-term fix will need immediate, initial action to set things in motion, otherwise it will be too late.
The Leicester game will show we can't rely on priced-out fans to attend just because our opponents return tickets, and offering ST holders additional seats for Palace shows they are worried about shifting tickets without significant price reductions. Even then, very few of the Palace tickets will be next to the ST holder so won't always be an attractive proposition.
Wolves will sell their allocation but how many will we sell for a Friday night game against a team celebrating PL survival? Villa might sell well if it really is a 5th place play-off, but once again it will be midweek if either team reaches the FA Cup semis. Bournemouth should sell out as it's the final home game of the season, but will it be so popular if we reach the FA Cup final and the fixture is moved to midweek?
It could be a bumpy ride for those setting ticket prices.

Wasn’t there 3000 returned away tickets though, so all the home tickets were sold now we are selling Leicester tickets. There will still be some tourists and there will still be loads of match day fans because they probably bought their tickets months ago.

I think it's the other way around. The fans who have stopped going to midweek games are the out of town seasoncard holders who find it difficult to get to these games, and we are reliant on locals coming to the games. That's what I think has been happening in the CL games but other people disagree. The data presented at City Matters which you can read online suggests that only 1 in 2 seasoncard holders go to the CL games. I don't think they presented any data on the postcode of the matchday supporters but it's likely they are predominantly locals.

More like half that, 3000 would be the whole allocation its just the top tier.
