PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Aaaaaaand this is why people need to lay off on the abuse and criticism of Stefan.

Seriously, anyone else on here capable of delivering a counter-nuke like this?
If I was him I’d have fucked this place right off after today. I don’t get where the hate comes from. Jealousy perhaps? Because he’s got a platform and people behind these keyboards don’t?

Very bizarre

Quite agree, it would be nice if someone could explain what this means in layman's terms.

Whilst there'll be people far better at explaining it than me, I think the basis of the tweet is that The Athletic have presented what they see (or what they want the reader to believe) as groundbreaking news about a "mystery man" as if he were "hid" by City. Stefan has countered it by pointing out that he's been in plain sight throughout, not in the least but hidden or by City or CFG, the opposite infact. As in, it's not news.

At least, I think that's kind of it...

I don't know if there's any truth to that. Maybe PB, WestDids can speak to it better if that kind of sentiment does exist in the community purely on the basis our owners are Muslim

I just think they are nostalgia merchants who don't like change
I think that the difference is that Conn and Shindler were City fans who jumped ship in the wake of the take-over, maybe with a bit of Islamophobia mixed in. Hattenstone is a a gadfly who is/was all over the place and I doubt if he was ever a genuine City fan.

He wrote a dreadful piece for the Guardian back in the day explaining how much better Rugby Union was that Football in every aspect. He cited Newcastle Falcons (lowest crowd 3,126 last season) as an example of what Football could be. He then added that Newcastle had England World Cup winner Jonny Wilkinson too! He failed to mention that Wilkinson had hardly played a game for them due to injury. Sloppy, ill-researched journalism at its worse.

I think it’s cos he doesn’t sugarcoat things and deals in facts as best he can

Some people don’t want to hear what they interpret as potentially ‘not great’ news and they somehow turn that round in their heads to view stefan as being overly negative and even anti city

are they trying to get some negative press out on us before our positives (hopefully) come out - a sort of "oh look at these cheating bastards"
They're getting their retaliation in early. It's all they have left.
They's just pissin' in the wind.

If clicks are down on a news site the bosses tell the reporters to re-hash something or just fabricate a story to make the site relevant as they need to cash in when the story breaks. They’re just staying relevant. It’s a competitive industry.

Magic Hat telling everyone that the guy from Etisalat lied at CAS.
Thats slander, legally walking a very fine line, but i see he has finally lost it and the veneer of seeming intellectual (yes he knows some big words) yet factually incorrect nonsense has gone and now he is just accusing well respected businessmen of lying in court.
