I took my money out as fast as I could but I'm still in on some stocks (didn't want to pull out in red).

But even I know that any business if they want to be successful does not shit all over their customers and that's exactly what they're doing. On top of that they're laying off/ firing people en masse.

This will snowball and then spiral out of control, but for an administration that cooked covid numbers last time.. don't expect the numbers to make sense this time. Think anyone and everyone with any common sense knows there will be a spectacular crash.. question is when.

Someone smart with a good sense of timing can probably make a fortune shorting the market, but that's the thing.. they still have a few things at their disposal to cook the books, propaganda on TV, things aren't as bad.. etc.
 
In some respects I don't care that he lumps tarrifs on Irelands pharmaceutical companies, good or bad that's just business.
What I do care about is people's lives and how he has no respect for them. Whether it's deporting so called gang members to a third party country, deporting students for non violent protest, threatening and no doubt soon to do, deporting Ukrainians who fled death for peace and security.

If Trump wants to fuck up the economy that's one thing, to destroy innocent people's lives is something I cannot get my head round. I just cannot understand how anyone can do that.

Same way i felt about the prior 4 years where the administration then left the border open, and then used tax payer money to fly illegal immigrants around the country and house then in expensive hotels.

Including the Migrants that raped and killed Laken Riley. I too struggled to wrap my head around that. But so many here comfortably did.

Agree with the sentiment and that should make him immediately unfit for office in most people’s
minds but fucking up the economy ultimately ruins more lives than anything and will be what decides what happens in the midterms.
 
I was all in favour of the PM inviting Trump for a state visit, but I wonder how Trump will react to the backlash he will surely get from the British public over his stance on trade tarriffs and his obvious backing for Putin. I suspect he may not be so in favour of free speech then?
 
Sky News just now in Zwickau reporting " German car parts manufacturers digesting how they will absorb the trump Tariffs"

Shameful reporting - if they make a grommet for 1 Euro for a Golf and sell it at 2 Euro then tats the same all over the EU and the UK. However the US importers will now pay 2.5 Euro with half a Euro going to the treasury and the vehicle repairer having to tell their US customer why the repair /service costs are dearer. Or nobody in the US imports anything the US Treasury gets nothing and the govt gets flak off voters who now have an expensive foreign car that is worthless as it cannot be repaired.
 
I assume the American voter understands they will be on the hook for $100b extra in costs on vehicles and parts and they are happy with it

It takes years to create those jobs as there is no manufacturing base yet, also companies may not move to USA as they’ve no idea with the volatility of Trump and tariffs if it would be worth it.
