City Announces Global Partnership with Viagogo

Apart from these markers, can anyone else name anymore markers where Khaldoon, Soriano, and the directors haven't given a fuck about the fans.

Season ticket and match day ticket price rises every season.
No more general season ticket sales.
Flexi-Gold season tickets only.
Ticket sales for Real Madrid at home in the CL.
The club silence on the Istanbul coach park fiasco.
The Super League participation and subsequent withdrawal.
Groups of fans wearing their team colours in the City away ends at Liverpool and Ipswich.
The club syphoning off tickets to give to the ticketing touting websites.
The disabled parking disaster
The no parking around the stadium
We will never have a concert or event at the coop live at the same time as a match

All this tourist bollocks has been generated quite recently by social media commentary,

We have had non season ticket fans coming to city for decades and had an increase obviously woth the succes, but in all that time the less provocative term day trippers was used and those who came for a singular match maybe the only chance they would get to go were never singled out or given shit, they came to support city no matter who and where they came from.

Tourist was a slur towards the rag and red scouse predominately scndinavian and irish fanbases (cockney too for the rags) which has crept in to have a go at these 'day trippers'

I tihnk the spanish club fans in away ends in their own clubs kits or instagram bellends getting tickets in the SSL, has seen this term slide in and caused confusion with some who now just class any new face near them as having got the ticket over a local fan or through ticketing sites (many will be members who have waited for an oportunity be them from ashton, devon or bali).

City could do a lot to reduce this tension fucking off the freebies for coaches beyond their wife, kids or parents nd stop using ticket agencies (that do sell to anyone some.whp are football tpurists with no care for the club), but they won't because s long as the cash comes in they don't give a fuck.

So sadly true blues local or from afar will be penalised and by some abused wrongly

This is all on the club.

Publically censuring our support for ‘tragedy chanting’ when what is sung wasn’t tragedy chanting and never engaging with the support about it.
Publically censuring our support for graffiti (with the word used not even being one that City fans use) on an Anfield toilet cubicle door before any proof of guilt was established (and never was) and never engaging with the support about it.
Not picking out the culprits of the visiting Lpool support who hospitalised a young girl, yet ban City fans before any guilt of wrongdoing is established across many issues from pushing a steward away who put his hands on a fan to fans helping secure tickets for fellow Blues outside the club’s re-listing.
Having worldwide trophy tours and never having them in any districts around Manchester.
Calling us ‘Legacy Fans’.
Not engaging with a long standing season ticket holder who gave up his ticket due to ill health who subsequently got better and wanted his season ticket back but the club not considering it in any way and just casting him aside.

And let’s not forget that City announced the ESL participation by publishing a statement signed by Joel fucking Glazer on our own club website.

It’d be useful if you didn’t always make up figures plucked out of thin air.

20.9% of Manchester is Asian (13.5% of Greater Manchester).

Your constant swerving of the narrative of this in every thread it pops up on is fucking boring, fella. You imply white City fans are too thick to understand that Mancunians aren’t all white, you imply that white City fans are racists… the way you always bring this sort of narrative to the party seems, erm, a bit racist to me.

People constantly have stated it's the cunts who jump up and cheer when our opposition score or the row on row of people who get tickets together when blues can't even get two together.

A bit of a silencing tactic but makes you wonder why, tourist is a bad word now even though that's what they are exactly. Doing the clubs bidding is what it is, othering local blues is what it is.

I agree. Jesus let’s not get lost. I’m saying this debate is not about racism and the term tourist is not racist as some on here are trying to imply. Let’s get back to the debate for crying out loud.
Visitors is a suitable description.....as in "I visited York or I visited Hadrian's Wall or I visited the Imperial War Museum

I want to support fan protests on ticket prices and ticket availability but I want City fans to accept that City's traditional fanbase is going to change in that 1/3rd of local Mancs are now asian and we aren't tourists. It would help if the club acted on the sale of half and half souvenir scarfs on CL nights. It looks bad.
The Blues I’ve known and met over the years have always have been a varied bunch - black, white, brown, Jewish, working class, middle class - from Hattersley to Hale. What they all share is pride in the streets where they live or grew up on, or where their ancestors grew up, or, if they are City by choice, fierce pride in the badge, because that’s what the Club represents. That’s the great thing about English fan culture - it’s about the civic identity or the choice to follow, and as such it’s inclusive. Lately people are seeing that being snatched away by market forces that see that heritage as a branding exercise.

Yes there is the odd dickhead, but they are overwhelmingly outnumbered by people who are kind and friendly and open to fellow Blues. However if someone turns up to a match and makes no effort to appreciate that culture then they also become the dickhead. We’ve all been visitors to other countries and other sports and enjoyed the tolerance of the people around us. But there’s no country on earth where if locals couldn’t get tickets for their childhood club because they were being hived off in large numbers to people who don’t engage much with the game or the people around them where it wouldn’t cause rumblings.

I’m not saying we live in a perfect world of no prejudice, far from it, just that questions of personal offence shouldn’t cloud the bigger issue here, which is fundamentally about how clubs treat genuine matchgoing supporters, wherever there roots might be, because if we carry on down this track, matchgoing will die because of greed and shortsightedness.

Not to split hairs but the last census in 2021 it was 15.9% of Greater Manchesters population tbf not 33%

But you are correct many Asians who are now attending will be locals and you are seeing more younger asian locals wearing city tops in my work than say 25 years ago.

I have noted to people in the ground when we have had the few empty seats near us used, predominately in cup games by south, east and SE asians, that Manchester has a good sized chinese community along with korean and japanese so it isn't strange to now see more younger chinese or other east asian fans, or arab and south asian fans too, all mainly with local acents.

I don't think our fan base has ever been anything but a mix bag so if genuine people come to watch city it won't matter to anyone where they are from or their ethnicity and never has imho

They do need to stop buying half n half scarfs though as does anyone :-)

I’ve always had an issue with the way that cunts like these can rip fans off and yet if some bloke is stood outside the ground flogging tickets for a relatively small profit he can get his collar felt.

Never quite got what the actual (not legal) difference is. They are both operating as agents and supplying a demand for profit.

I think it was Edward Heath who talked about the unacceptable face of capitalism, and this business model is definitely on all fours with that.

Even worse than that, the club are threatening to ban lads who link up fellow Blues to help them transfer/buy tickets when some Blues can’t make it to a game and others want to attend that game.

They don’t make any money from doing it, they just help people out with a lot of dedication and spend a lot of time doing it.

Exactly.
I couldn't give a toss if someone's black white or fucking purple.
It's the tourists as in not real city fans that fuck me off.
Nob heads who have a YouTube channel and get sponsored/endorsed to attend the game and film it.
Paying inflated prices at the expense of proper fans who are getting priced out.
And that's absolutely nothing to do if these people are Asian
Black.
Gay or anything really.
I'm the least racist person ever.
But I want to get the ground full of proper fans

Nobody has a problem with a City supporting tourist/s. FACT! Anyone on here who says City fans have is a liar.

The problem is tourists in the City ends who support United, Liverpool, Real Madrid, etc. Especially celebrating their goals.

What those tourists don't understand is the tribalism on the English terraces.

The root cause of the tourist issue is City selling tickets to football tourists on ticket touting websites.

Years ago this was never a problem at City. It's gradually got worse as City have been selling more and more tickets in the home ends via their now 9 partner ticket touting websites to football tourists.

City isn't Barcelona. (Is it Soriano!) City isn't Real Madrid.(Is it Soriano!) Where you can buy a €150 match ticket in the home ends and celebrate a goal without any mither.

There isn't one European club that would sell a ticket to a football tourist in the Ultra ends. Yet our Directors sell tickets to tourists who support other teams in South stand, level 1, the equivalent of our Ultra end.

Soriano and the Directors have caused all these tourist problems inside the Etihad with their greed and desperation to sell as many tickets as possible to anyone who will buy them at an inflated price, which is normally a football tourist.

Ok. Wasn’t aware of that development, which I’m opposed to obviously. Haven’t followed this much. Let me read up and revert later!
