Open Letter on Season Tickets and Pricing | Club announce price freeze on "general admission season tickets & PL match tickets" for next season (p163)

Could be worse. At Yeovil you get a two year ban just for calling the chairman a cùnt on Twitter.

I admit I haven’t spent much time at the Etihad, but the criticisms here seem similar to those of other big clubs. It seems like people either accept the status wuo or leave and go the way of Bury.
No, just because its happening at other clubs doesn't mean we should accept it at City. We're not those clubs, if it all goes wrong, the only constant is the fans who have been there through thick and thin, if we alienate them now we lose them for ever. And we are alienating so many city fans who have seen the worse and the best, if those legacy fans stop going we have a real problem yet the club dont see it.

With regards the away fans in the home end, just read the posts, this isn't City fans selling to Liverpool and certainly isn't anyone being bribed by scousers. It's the club systematically selling tickets to agencies who then sell to Liverpool fans. They gain a few quid but ruin the matchday for literally hundreds of blues.

Thinking about protests how about all season ticket holders boycott the last game of the season against Bournemouth list there ticket on the exchange for a guaranteed refund and let the club shift another 35k tickets to tourists and away fans??
That is a great idea.

There's a lot who like to clap off the players at end of the season. Could be KDB last game for us, certainly at home.

Wrong game we could be saying good bye to a few legends and not fair on the players better to do it before, and we might need to win to secure UCL

Also just not turn up don’t give the club the opportunity to fill the seats the more empty seats the better

Great suggestion. Might not let us have any guaranteed refunds the following season as a consequence of it in a tit for tat war, but that would be quite the statement.

Taking the refund would cost the club money, and sadly, that is all they care about. It won't happen, but if the majority of season ticket holders listed their tickets, the club wouldn't be able to resell them. It may open a few people's eyes to the fact that they do need us.

DON’T TREAT US THIS WAY…

It is saddens me to say this, but I’m not going to hide my disgust at the way that loyal City supporters are being treated by the club.

I’ve supported Manchester City for 44 years, and in that time I have never felt as disgusted, disappointed or felt such a disconnect with our club than now. Not even in the disastrous regimes of Peter Swales and Francis Lee. Not even relegation and incompetence made me feel that way. Swales and Lee, bless ‘em, still knew the importance of City supporters.

It’s becoming a vehicle for corporate greed.

High ticket prices... pricing fans out…ridiculously high ticket prices…seven season ticket rises in 9 years (one of which was a Covid season with none sold)…not engaging with fans...apparently phasing out season tickets and replacing them with rip-off so-called ‘Flexi-Gold’ schemes… the Disneyfication of the club...pricing…selling tickets in home sections to away fans.. signing up to 9 rip-off ticket agencies, banning fans who transferred tickets to friends...

Where does it end?

When the camera clicking tourists are no longer interested in hard times, we will still support OUR club.

But will we be able to afford to go to watch OUR club?

The club is supposed to cherish the fans. Not treat us this way…

Without fans, there is no club.

We were here long before Ferran Soriano even heard of Manchester City and we will be long after he has gone.

City is for life, not for corporate greed.

It is high time that Ferran Soriano and those in power woke up to this fact, and treated loyal Manchester City supporters with the respect that we deserve.

Your move, City.

Great post. Sums up my feelings.

Swales nearly ruined our club, he was incompetent and out of his depth. But while he was certainly unpopular he didn't set out to alienate the fan base. And eventually we got the club back.

Soriano isn't incompetent or out of his depth but alienating the long-term local fanbase is clearly a key part of his strategy. Unlike you though I really worry that we've lost the club for good. Soriano is more dangerous than Swales.

Definitely more dangerous. Swales for all his faults didn't rip us off and had some empathy with us. I remember him going to the inaugural meeting of the South Yorkshire branch when I lived there. He was genuinely connected.

Different times Swales if he was about today would do the same it’s all about greed

Agreed, Swales would have absolutely killed to be able to do what the club are doing, he wouldn't give a flying fuck about the fans if it meant he could line his pockets.

Swales was never dangerous, just egotistical and obsesed with trying to not be in uniteds shaddow, and ultimately failing with poor and knee jerk choices and idiocy.

It is the reason he has a strange legacy from older fans of both distain and fondness. King Bert as he is known ;-)

Great post which I agree with except I hate the term "legacy fan". Happy to be a FOC but I'm never going to be a "legacy fan".

We had a tv salesman as chairman and at the same time the rags had a butcher….

I tried selling it on here at face value for the Chelsea game and had no takers

I put it on the club's ticket exchange and it was gone in twenty minutes

Bizarrely, no one was in the seat at the game
Well it won’t sell at those prices, it’s getting more obvious now that seats aren’t selling for stupid prices unless it’s a must win game, the Plymouth game I had five empty seats next to me in SSL1 and that was cheap. Watch the CL next season, people are already tired of it, the extra games etc, so unless it’s a big team like Madrid more and more empty seats, I’m torn on going in the scheme or binning it, if I do stay in it I’ll put everyone on the ticket exchange unless I know someone who wants it, I can’t be arsed going to it anymore it’s an awful atmosphere anyway.
