Bournemouth (A) - FA Cup | Post Match Thread

I’m struggling to understand this superhuman first half performance by Bournemouth as seen by some posters.
Looked like a classic city performance of the last few seasons, save for the balls up by Nunes.
Opposition run around in the first half like dervishes and yet create next to nothing. City have most of the ball and create some excellent chances. Second half kicks off and the dervishes are absolutely knackered. City score 2, should have got another 2, concede no shots on target and win at a cantor. Marvellous..
I think first half and second half were stark contrasts. We came in to it more first half after a very poor start but it was still sloppy and we had no real control despite possession stats. Yes, we should have scored 2 but they weren’t created by good play, rather gifted chances and we failed to capitalise.

Second half we controlled the game. We came out determined and dictated and dominated the play. We moved bournemouth around like we used to and created spaces. We seemed to have that confidence back. It was a sorely missed attitude. For the first time in ages I didnt fear a late capitulation rather I thought we’d score again.

We deserved that.
Although first half wasn't great, it wasn't nearly as bad as some were making it out to be
Bournemouth played with huge intensity, the referee was allowing them a lot of very marginal challenges and we only conceded one goal through a single piece of stupidity rather than a bad team goal.

We could have had several goals ourself.

2nd half we took command and could have had a few more.

The old guard were a lot better than they have been.
We're not close to our best of the previous seasons but we're not the disjointed mess that we were in the late Autumn and winter.

Thought we were massively the best team throughout. Was frustrated by the referee, as well as the commentary, but the game never seemed in doubt for me.

We are starting to make those chances again, which could’ve seen us a couple up. It’ll take time, but we’re getting there.

OReilly Marmoush and Grealish changed the game with their energy and drive which made Bournemouth defend deep.

A very frustrating first half but we redeemed ourselves 2nd half with a solid performance. Bring on Forest.
Should of been 3-1 up at half time but we deserved to.win second half .come on you Blues.

The first half was a groundhog day of our season. Slow, pedestrian missing easy chances, including a penalty then concede with the first effort against us. I will admit I thought fuck this and went to cook the dinner, get showered and changed to get out early. I followed the score on the match day thread. Made up.we won obviously but by God are we ever going to click into any sort of decent consistent form?
A place has to be found for O'Reilly.

Great performance, we were unlucky to be a goal down. Dominated the match for me, definitely the second half. 7 semi finals in a row. Come on you Blues.

I felt Bournmouth worked very hard that first half. But were lucky to go in at half time in front

Not our best first half but we should still have gone in at least three goals to the good.
Nunes did well aside from that ridiculous cross field ball that led to their goal, it was almost the same type of pass Foden made against the arse that led to the same outcome.
A much better second half in which O'Reilly made a huge difference, a couple of great assists and was pretty sturdy in defence although he did win the ball a couple of times and then nearly lost it straight after. Good to see that he fought to get it back again.
In that second half I thought all our ageing midfielders gave a good account of themselves, Marmoush was quick and energetic, Dias and Gvardiol looked pretty secure.
Pep looked pretty pumped up at the end.
I want to see more of O'Reilly!
