I have a different view on that article. Yes, it's got the usual click-bait red shirt appeasing BS headline and it starts off as a hit-piece but the article basically concludes with saying that City being not guilty is the best all round outcome for football.

This is the paragraph: "Such thinking can provoke a thought that a City victory on all charges is the best outcome, if that is indeed the eventuality. That would preserve the memories of Guardiola's football in a purer form. That would be a landscape without asterisks. Without insufficient punishments. "

I read the article as he knows (or has heard strong rumours) that we've been cleared and is setting the scene for the press to all celebrate that being innocent closes the saga, removes the perceived tarnish on City's achievements in England (and Europe) and we can all move on with our heads held high. No doubt with some spin that this also restores the EPL's credibility within UEFA.

It was also a great summary of what a fantastic player Yaya was for us!

If you want to read it without the paywall, it's here: https://archive.ph/gcqtA#selection-2213.0-2213.280
The notion that journalists currently know anything about the outcome is frankly ludicrous.

One of the better articles yet still a strange reluctance to acknowledge that City might have enjoyed a better season without so many injuries
That article amazed me; it was almost affectionate of Pep. No need for McNulty to go off topic and ramble about injuries; he clearly wanted to celebrate Pep. Has the worm turned?

Oh this one is brilliant (I'm laughing not angry)

The Guardian have interviewed a teenager from Myanmar. They say she is a typical teenager, loves her boyfriend, cartoons and supports Manchester City.

The thing is........She's a trained sniper who doesn't know how many she's killed fighting against the evil government regime

We've finally made it. Even the rags can't boast they have a trained killer.

Good article that and one that a lot on the match thread in particular should take something from......

View attachment 151499I think the BBC wants people to know that Rashford is BACK!

2 goals vs a Championship team. All hail Rashers.

Did O’Reilly command these headlines after the Plymouth match?!
As Ive said before Rashford has to be the most overated player in the prem ....averaged 8 league goals a season in his career .....1 in 4 striker ...shite

Yes, he started off as "world-beater" when he outpaced Demechelis in a Derby, on an inevitable counter attack.
He became the media darling due to him being a Trafford Tramp academy player. They needed one, as they hadn't had one since Wes Brown.
Will be interesting where he ends up, though the BBC will do their best to get a good fee for the Media City pet club...

I can't wait for his memoirs.

:)

Giving the vultures fuck all.

I fucking love this guy.

You can tell that he's pretty much got zero respect for a lot of them and yet he still tries to explain stuff (and it's generally stuff that shouldn't need explaining to "football people"), I mean, it's probably because he simply loves talking football, but still.

And the world weary exhales of breath when they ask a bullshit question are fucking priceless.

Don't think I'd be able to stop myself from throwing in the odd "that's a weird take on it you twat, but I'll answer it anyway". Hats off to the guy.

He really doesn't like them that is clear, but I think he really really doesn't like simple Simon

Have been watching Preston v villa and the way other clubs are looked on so favourably compared to City.
I kept hearing villa have great squad, no mention of the cost. They have a quality bench, again no mention of the cost. The sickening fawning over rashford, he's a great striker, he's great on the wing, he's a specialist at free kicks. So where has he been hiding this talent all these years ? He hasn't been hiding it, he hasn't got it. Today his free kicks were shit, didn't take on one player, shit in the air. They are playing fuckin Preston and because he scores a tap in he is the new Messi !!!!
Don’t forget the love in with Forest flying high, no mentions of their points deduction for cheating.. compare and contrast to City

They had ‘master butcher’ Louis Edwards and his school meat contracts, tbf

As we won and came from behind I expected a lengthy report but my God, the Telegraph sports section offers us Page 1, 2 'n 3. Have they been given free tickets for the Leicester game? But as I turn the page there on Pages 4, 5 'n 6 is more puffery about the Rags who didn't play and didn't come from behind, where they attempt to provide a cure-all for the accumulated shite by the side of the Bridgewater Canal.

He looked happier in that video and so he should be. The tactical change at half time worked really well for him and the team. Yes, his hand was forced a bit with Haaland but Grealish coming on meant we retained the ball better and able to control the game like we used to. Hopefully its a start of a good period for us.
