Roll call for 9 minute protest

It seems even with fees viagogo when it gets close to a game could be selling tickets/packages at 80% discount.

I know the prices will be much higher for high demand games, bit it is clear this will swing both ways. Hospitality with 3 course meal and a drink for Foxes £38 with fees added.

The club taking a massive hair cut with great deals for tomorrow should be promoted. It is too early to judge, but as I stated at the start of the thread the deal is due to decreasing demand, it City fans get cut price hospitality tickets due to it, although for low demand games, and wouldn't pay the prices for high demand hospitality anyway, you can at least see a positive.

Far too early to judge though.
Agreed, £38 plus fees with a meal...wow
They are banking on making shitloads for the big games but as you say...swings & roundabouts

So while the charges are still to be dismissed, we are still fighting for a CL spot, have a Derby and FA cup to play for in a world where children die every second from malnutrition, and just under 180,000 were reported missing in 2024, in the UK alone let's right on bruvver let's go full zit faced snowflake and stand on our heads for whatever trivial bollocks(which it is), because of what?

embarasing post lad

You can pretend this is about ticket pricing but it isn't. It's been labelled vianoshow and 9 minutes boycott for the 9 ticket resellers. I suggest you consider the politics of soccer casual groups. Perhaps that's why this has gone wrong.
1894 have leafleted already about flexi-gold and had a banner taken down stating “stop exploiting loyalty” at a game! This is just another thing in a series of events where the club refuse to listen. Not to mention, during a time where all these topics were agreed to be discussed with CM. This for many is just latest cock up by the club, as for why it’s branded this way - but the picture is much bigger than that. I hope there’s more to come, and a real dialogue can be opened up with the club. Each to their own on the day to take part, but for me it’s a much bigger picture fans are fighting for

I don’t like to pick on an individual posters, so I apologise in advance, but you really are clueless Marvin. And you have been throughout this thread.

Time and again it has been pointed out in this thread that the protest is not only about the club signing up with Viagogo, it is also about the other 8 ticket touting online club partners as well, away fans in the home ends, trouble in the home ends, security and safety for our fans in our home ends, safety for stewards, fans of other clubs in City away ends, getting away tickets directly from the club and club employees, the club syphoning off tickets to their 9 tickets partners instead of selling them directly to the fans via the OS ticket page, season ticket prices, match day ticket prices, continual season ticket price increases, no new general season tickets for 6 season, £150/£75 Flexi-Gold season tickets, season ticket numbers falling season upon season with those season tickets being turned into expensive hospitality packages and match day tickets by the club on purpose, the club not engaging with the City Matters reps properly, the club not responding to the letter sent to Khaldoon by the City fan groups, the club not backing the fans in public on issues like the Istanbul coach park farce, the club not engaging with and listening to the wider City fan base in general, local and legacy City fans being priced out of PL matches, the impossibility of getting enough seats together for a family for a PL match, if they could afford the tickets, 1000’s of unsold tickets and seats because they are too expensive for City fans to buy, etc. I could go on.

But no doubt you will keep on insisting that the protest is purely about the club signing up with Viagogo.

The club will be aware this is happening and it will be interesting to see how they deal with it. If they use mass stewarding backed up with police to try and force fans to take their seats or leave it could turn nasty.

Fair play. In 22 years of doing this site I’d say that’s probably one of the worst posts I’ve had the misfortune to read on here.

You can obfuscate all you like but I've seen the vianoshow flyer. It describes the event around the 9 ticket resellers, hence a 9 minute protest. I wish it had been about the really big issues including some of the issues that you identify but this is Vianoshow. I know there's a lot of discontent about a lot of other issues. But I am not joining a protest about something else just because I am generally angry.

The ticket reselling is being linked to non-City fans in the City ends. We have had that argument, and it's a divisive argument. I think it's disappointing that City fan organisations chose this angle. A lot of people might join in because they are generally angry but I don't want to because it's not an important issue for me, and I don't like the tourist argument for all the reasons we have gone into previously.

Anyone not joining in because it's "not about ticket pricing" or "not about season tickets" should just be honest that you were never joining in any protest.

Like the Nottinghamshire miners tried to justify their scabbing and greed on some technicality about a vote being needed to come out, you're just clutching at straws trying to use that for not joining in

It's so shortsighted to not see that ANY tap on the shoulder we give the club will help the cause of pricing and SCs as it forces the club to listen and shows them we're sick of being walked over

It's fine if it's not your thing to cause trouble, you're too tight to miss 10% of a match or even that you're naturally a bootlicking conformist, but own it and don't justify your cowardice by having a pop at those who are taking risks to do the uncomfortable things
Oh do spare us the fucking drama.

Possibly the most unhinged rhetoric posted on this thread well done!

If you haven't worked out that this is about the Ownership not giving a sh*t about the fans who were here before the takeover and the diminished numbers of fans who will be here after they have taken their profits and run, then I'm really sorry you've not been able to grasp the concept.

By the way, I'm disappointed that you didn't mention the Earthquake in Myanmar, the Humanitarian crisis in Gaza or the fact that Stockport Council will be charging £59 for a green bin collection....

Oh the humanity !

Or the FACT that the 341 from Hyde makes your arse numb the journey is so shaky.

It all sounds rather like synthetic outrage to me.

Regardless of the issues choosing a mid-week match against Leicester strikes me as a very dumb selection. There will be unsold tickets anyway.

It is costing me over £200 for this trip including rail fares and hotel booking before I add in for a meal out and snacks en route. The match ticket price in just over £20 out of that.

Excuse me for not joining in with this self-indulgent protest.

You mean this flyer? It's double sided, here's the other side... And it states "fans are being priced out, fans can't get season tickets" - most of what everyone has been pointing out

It's literally the first home game following last week's announcement, and it's the last home game before City Matters finally meet with the club on Thursday - do you really not see why the protest has been called, after a season of so much discontent around ticketing?

How on earth can you call it self-indulgent
