Leicester City (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

That second half was dire. Both sides wanted anything but to be playing football for the entire second half. Leicester I get, they're down, the fight has gone but we've got a champions league spot to salvage, the game wasn't guaranteed given our ability to capitulate this season and even if it was, goal difference could play a part yet we showed no desire to score a goal second half and led to an awful watch. Remember when we used to score 4/5 against this kind of team in second gear?

You don’t think we make it harder for ourselves the way we play? 73% possession against a team as shit as that and we put 5 shots on target.

They are one of the worst teams we’ve played for a good while, they offered nothing and we still laboured and can’t find a final ball.
 
Have to say I thought Leicester were dire. Perfect for us but you'd be absolutely sick if you supported them. They didn't once even try and play forwards. I know the managers out of his depth, but they're basically resigned to relegation and have been since he took over.

For us I thought it was great to see Marmoush score and also thought Gundogan and Nico G played very well on the middle. A perfect warm up for the weekend.

Savinho & Doku need to work on their shooting but I wouldn’t be too harsh on them, especially Savinho. 8 assists in a very poor team in his first season in PL at 20 isn’t bad at all. Finishing for both is poor though, I’d honestly have them working on nothing else every session.
 
jeez, that was a tough watch. I think at one stage in the second half we must have had possession for about ten minutes, made hundreds of passes and somehow managed to lose about 30 yards ground. That just about summed the game up. Leicester had absolutely no ambition at all and we are happy to just keep making short sideways and backward passes.

I know the points are important but I really don’t enjoy paying to watch that crap. I hope we decide to turn it up a few gears on Sunday.

I think they sat 11 men behind the ball and we declared at 2-0.
 
Won the game and got the points, thats about all you can say.

We wasted a huge opportunity to really pad the goal difference there which may come in to play - 2nd half was a compete non-event, and I wonder sometimes if our players realise you are permitted to shoot.

The drop off from Sterling/Sane/Mahrez to Doku and Savinho really noticeable in games like that. Grealish half decent and O'Reilly again impressive. We will need to be miles better on sunday.

Yes I should have been more specific. Chronic lack outside of our strikers. Wingers and mids are just no threat at all. Foden chipped in a flurry to bring his stats up a little but gvardiol has more then most of the forward line outside of haaland / marmoush combined

He deserved it for his assault on Marmoush.

Haven’t seen it back, but it looked intentional and vindictive on first viewing. Nowhere near the ball either.
