I’m surprised with what I’ve read on here I think he’s been really solid overall for us. He’s not a #6 and can’t play that role in the way Rodri can.

We knew when we signed him he wasn’t a physical specimen. I though he looked at his best when playing just ahead of Rodri (perhaps a bit surplus now with Nico G)

But he’s brought a lot of qualities, composure on the ball. Good in build-up - always one for dropping back into the back line and helping out hugely like today. Press resistant and a good carrier.

The type of player who’s a good player but is very rarely going to get the plaudits. Just a steady player. Don’t think it’s fair to say he’s flopped in anyway. He should be a depth option though not a starter.

Has to go in the summer for me. Neat and tidy, but off the ball he is a liability.

We have to get back to being a very difficult team to beat and we won't be with Kovacic in our midfield most weeks.
 
You can see why he never really cemented a place at madrid and chelsea. Has good technical ability and nice burst and turn but gets caught out of position a lot and cant recover. Just missing something
 
We need to upgrade in the summer but he has more than done what he was brought in to do, don't blame the player, blame the people that brought him to the club.
 
No doubt one of Pep’s worst ever signings and Chelsea saw us coming. He sets so may attacks up for the opposition when he gets his head down and tries a to run through in a straight line. Never seems to learn his lesson when he does that.

I think re-signing Gundo is up there. At least Kova tries.
 
If you ever wanted a prime example of our drop off it’s this lad. Not his fault but from the likes of Dinho, Silva,KDB etc to him.

Get your point mate but not really. He would take a touch and pass it to a better player. This div starts dribbling in his own half as if he is Messi
 
He can do the simple things, but so can nigh on every midfielder in the 4 leagues.

That first half attempted run through 4 people putting us in danger sums him up.
 
he should be coming on for 25mins in games where we have the lead to offer some control preferably alongside Rodri or Nico G.

what happened to him Pep starts him a lot and expects things of him he is completely not able to do like give defence help in number 6, setting tempo from deep, turn balls left to right in good speed.
 
Incredibly negative footballer, whose first thought is to pass the ball sideways or backwards

When we won the treble, if you said that in 2 years time, we'd start an FA cup QF and then a Derby with Kovacic and Gundogan as the two central midfielders, I'd have had some serious concerns

If he isn't passing sideways or backwards, he's dribbling into a dead end and jump starting a counter attack against us.

His signing is the peak example of our arrogant squad planning.
