United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

In the end it was a drab and safe performance from Pep and the team. There was plenty of effort just no creativity. Rags were well organised and rarely came out of their 5-4-1 which made it a hard watch. It’s at least a point though so not terrible and keeps us in the pack. Based on current form, I think Villa will get 4th possibly 3rd if Forest start to decline and it’ll be down to us, Newcastle and Chelsea for fifth.

Some proper small time fans follow us too. Get the right mentality to follow an elite club

I have the right mentality built up over decades. A draw is better than a defeat. A point today was better than no points. Pep said as much. You questioning his elite mentality?

I take it you don't know 'posh spice is a slapper' and 'Kneville family' songs then (amongst others) we sing to wind them up?
I abhor them as well and have said so in ‘real life’. Plus the number of times at away games I’ve called out fans for their despicable chanting of the Munich song in the past I’ve lost count of.
I’ll sing along with our ‘ordinary’ songs with gusto so don’t think I sit on my hands or a killjoy. I’m quite loud at games. :-)

Do we all think he's too loyal to some players due to all the success they've brought us ? Cos surely he can see not just in training but in games that kova , gundo, bernie and kdb are not what they were ? What was the point in spending so much in Jan if they cant get regular playing time ?

Loyalty in football is a rare thing ? A manager lives and dies by the sword of results, but in Pep case he's got plenty in the bank to be loyal to his players because how can you sack Pep,

Two sides who have both had a piss-poor season.
Two sides who are fully aware that they have had a piss-poor season and are both happy that neither of them had the final ignominy of losing a local derby after such a…well….piss-poor season.
A long hard rebuild is now on the cards for both, and I know which club has the best chance of a more rapid and successful process.

If he has admitted mistakes then I am pretty sure that is on him. Playing kdb gundog bernardo and kovacic repeatedly together is on him. If he knows they aren't capable why is he persisting with them? Why is refusing to play with any pace, energy or direction? KDB time is up yet he played him and started him again today, what message does that send. We bought players in Jan who aren't getting a look in, they are the apparent future of the club. Not the old guard. Your post doesn't do anything to defend Pep, it highlights his errors of the season more
Spot on

You cannot make an argument up with hypotheticals, whatever the situation we shouldn't be scraping around for 5th and plying absolute horse shit football with it

“Whatever the situation”… so basically you’re saying that regardless of any circumstances nothing can mitigate. Talk about entitlement.

One bad season in God knows how long, with a calamitous run of injuries and your crying about it. Pathetic.

Load of bollocks that. Easy in hindsight but why persist with Bernardo, he has zero goal threat and is physically piss weak. Kovacic, zero goal threat. Gundogan, offers nothing these days.

Nunes just not good enough, never has been. Especially at fullback, he’s a midfielder. Why not Khusanov at right back?

And why didn’t Savinho even come off the bench?

Fucking hell we don’t half need a reset and a huge transfer outlay on quality this summer. No more fucking squad fillers or old men or slow as fuck plodders.
If that's what 200m gets you in January, we'll need to spend 1bn this summer to get competitive again

Seriously fella don't across like that sort of chap "I've mentality built up over decades"....

Plenty of us have been watching City for decades, People have different opinions and that's fine, It would be boring as fuck on here if we all thought the same.

In that case, Three points is better than One point, Pep doesn't go into games looking for a point, We've all been watching Pep for years and his philosophy was always going into games to WIN...Today he was happy with a point, He went for the cautious approach.

Do I agree with that? No.

I think we should be looking to beat teams that are sitting in 13th or 14th place in the league table, They won 10 games from a possible 31...

We've won basically everything under Pep all because he went into every game wanting to win, For whatever reason he thought differently today only he knows.

A treble, 100 points, 4 titles in a row... one not so great season and you're seriously saying Pep might not be the man?

I think you'll be begging for him to be back after he's gone.

The Club and Pep Gambled in the summer because they knew it was ok if we didn't win the title again,
If you patch up a team for one last push after 10 years of unbelievable success I think you are safe in your job

Did injuries mean he had to play with no pace today? Did injuries mean Bernardo had to start? Did injuries mean bringing Lewis on? Did injuries mean starting KDB? It is excuses. You can have a dip for factors that's why this isn't a rant at not winning the league. The drop off has been massive and even then discount the very poor league position. Just watch us play, it is fucking horrible and boring and something I flagged to mates after the Wolves win this season which I am sure had us top of the league still. That proves it isn't knee jerk, my eyes told me we are playing boring, slow, passive and allow every defender get back to defend us with shape. It is poor mate and that comes from the top

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but I commend Pep for calling out the Trafford fans for their despicable chanting about Foden’s Mum.
It’s a game of football for goodness sake not a war. Chant about the game, chant the players names. Sing the good songs but leave the families alone. :-)
It’s a fucking derby.

A draw away at United, the worst united in premier league history, with no attacking ambition is a shocker however you dress it, even more so when we need every possible point for our top 5 fight
