Heard much worse, it's a test of character. Some fold under the pressure and some thrive. The best way to shut them up is have a great game and get a goal.

Not sure what's happened to Phil this season because he's been terrible compared to previous seasons. I'd hoped he'd bring his City performances to the England team but he's brought his England performances to the City team and then some, he looks lost on the pitch currently.

Pisses me off to say this, as I'm a huge admirer of his talent as my username will show.

Isn't that the aim of the chant? They've not said anything out of hand and if it gets Phil or even just fans rattled it's achieved it's slap.


What does that matter? Can't say it's fine to sing it on the concourse but not in the stands. Is it fine for us to sing about munich as long as its restricted to the concourse?

The only difference is that they managed to actually get it going en masse, whereas getting many thousands of people to baselessly accuse somebody of paedophilia is a bit of a harder sell than calling somebody's mum a slag.

Big difference I was pointing out was City fans singing on the concourse rather than in the stands.

Happened at anfield last season, just after their stadium PA asked fans not to sing about stadium tragedies etc, they get away with murder them lot & expect every other club to act like the Virgin Mary while baiting away fans into singing songs that aren’t actually about Hillsborough, to appear holier than thou. It's not pleasant but we've all sang similar or worse many many times and still do at times.

It's football, it's what happens, a negative of being paid fortunes every week puts players in the spotlight and rightly or wrongly puts a target on their backs. It's hardly a new thing and by complaining about it Pep isn't helping unless he can get it linked to tragedy chanting.

Calling somebody a slag isn't discrimination based on the protected characteristics. Songs that are deemed homophobic will have action taken, same with tragedy chanting. Calling someone a slag isn't comparable with mocking deaths.

All these clips showing City fans chants are mostly on the concourse, big difference from today where it was sang in the ground by thousands and heard on tv apparently.

Saying that I wasn’t aware it was sang during the game on the stream I watched on.

It was heard on tv it was very loud and very clear. The sky commentator even said how great the noise was inside old trafford. Which surprised me even by sky standards.
