United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Because the man is loosing the fking plot, ne needs to go and go now, I know they won't ever sack him, but if it was up to me he'd of been gone by xmass,
What baffles me with some of you, you always make excuses up for him, there ain't any

So one bad season after winning 4 league titles in a row, along with the treble, is enough for you to want that same winning manager to be sacked?

I'd much rather people like you fuck off from the club to be honest. Simpleton.

Agreed. We've never had a great defence. We were just exceptional at possession. This nullified the world class opposition players.
Exactly, Our defensive side of the game was keeping the ball, We were unbelievable at passing teams to death to a point in which they'd simply give up.

If we did give the ball away opposition would try hit us on the counter attack which we would normally deal with because of our sweeper keeper or Walkers recovery pace.

Opposition can't hurt you when you've got the ball, That's done a complete U-Turn and we are now masters of our own downfall by giving up possession so easily and being punished.

Personally this rebuild is going to take longer than people think, I do think Pep is the man to do it and I think he will turn this around but it isn't an easy fix.

On the other hand, I don't think we'll ever get back to were we used to be, Truth be told, That team was ridiculously good and something ourselves or the Premier League will ever see again.

I suspect you weren't alone in feeling 'cheated'...... I couldn't get a ticket, but it made for pretty miserable viewing by stream, and it looked all over a goalless draw from early on to me ...... we were more intent on not losing, than actually winning, and United weren't much better ..... some of their fans are claiming it's the worst and most ineffective City side they've seen for the last 15 years or so, and it was hard to argue with them ..... it just felt strange for a derby match, when we are chasing a Champions League place, and need to be grinding out winning results.
It was dismal. The second derby in succession where half an hour in and you could hear a pin drop. And I can't think of a City team in the last ten years at least that wouldn't have beaten that rag team comfortably. And it really is a disgrace that the only needle was injected by knuckle heads singing disgusting songs about a player's mum. I've always argued that football is a sport not a war and that teams and players are rivals not enemies but seeing the obvious chuminess at full time and hearing the very generous comments made about each other I wondered whether it was quite appropriate after fans had paid good money for such a load of rubbish.

This is fun.

How many points did they get?
You’re both right. This is dependant on which way you read this.
They’ve denied City 5 possible points out of 6.
They’ve got 4 points themselves from 6 available playing City.
So they’ve “ taken” five points off what City could’ve had but only earned ( maybe a better word for that.) 4. You’re both right.

We were always going to take a fall from our ridiculously high level of excellence at some point.
In hindsight last summer was the time to refresh. Since then we have lost a balon D’or winner, lost most of our first choice defence for large periods, seen the decline through age of several midfielders and the mental/physical issues with Phil.
Pep is one of the all time great managers but he is human and like all of us, makes mistakes. Mistakes which are more likely to occur when the cards you are dealt with, distort your mind set.
We are we we are, and acceptance of that makes for a more tolerant person.
Unless Pep doesn’t give a toss, which I find highly unlikely due to his persona then those that wish him gone have the serious issues, not Pep.

What part of my post "questioned your mentality"?

Absolutely none of it, You'd notice that if you read properly.

I was questioning your attitude and audacity giving it the "Big I Am", I thought it was Jurgen Klopp posting for a second "Mentality Monster"...

As I said, People have different opinions and look at things differently regarding football, Some posters you'll agree with, Other posters not so much, That's life. It doesn't mean you've a better Mentality than others so you'll need to get off your high horse with that one.

I thought I was replying the person who had told me that I needed a different mentality, in order to support an elite club. I wasn't on a high horse and perfectly entitled to push back on what was said.

Correct! Like I’ve already said, I’m not interested how many points they’ve gained, we have 1 from a possible 6, therefore we’ve dropped 5 points to a shower of shit!

Kovacic, Silva, Gundogan and De Bruyne in the same side makes for a painful watch now. All of them lack pace to a point where the game looks like a charity match.

Four midfielders over the age of 30 in a starting line-up. It should never have been allowed to happen.

Morning.
Slept on it and as per yesterdays post -yep it was a horrific performance.
No Savio,Doku, Nico or Grealish yet play oap's Gundogan Kovacic and a totally out of sorts Foden.
Bizarre bizarre management from Pep who has pissed me off to some tune this season with some monumenally poor selections. Still love the bloke but he is not immune from taking part of the blame because he picks the team.
Buys Gonzales and soesn't play him. Why????
United were wank but take no solace in that.
Wake up if you think Rodri coming back will change it all. It won't. He will be a lot more prone to injuries in particular muscular injuries after a year out...
Fans were great anyway yesterday.
The problem is that the four players you mention left out for the Oap's fail to inspire much confidence either, as numerous posts point out. But I agree a good nights sleep has done little to lift the gloom surrounding yesterday's performance.
