Palace have only been beaten by more than one goal once this season which was against Arsenal. This will be a very tight game with us not being a swashbuckling attacking team right now.

Add in to the fact Palace are 6th in the away league table this year on 23 points despite having played 2 fewer games than 2nd placed Arsenal in that away table whom are on 28 points. They beat us here and they are on course to be the second best team away from home in the league.

They are a good side. This game will not be easy and we really need to win now.

This lot beat us when we were shit hot so no way we beat them when we are shit
You obviously haven't watched City much if you believe that twaddle.

My first two City matches were supposed to be West Brom and Blackpool at home in 1963. I didn't make it to the WBA match but the results were 1-5 and 0-3. The next match was against Tottenham off the back of a League/FA Cup double and another FA Cup win. City won 1-0.

Those sorts of results continued to happen throughout the next 60 years.

This is a must win now. We need to attack them and we need our speed to do it.

Play Savinho on the left and let him run at them.
Put Doku on the right and Marmoush through the center. If that doesn't work bring on Bobb.

I'd keep the back five, none of them deserve to be dropped and Bernie and Kovacic played alright yesterday so i'd keep them in too. Gonzalez has to play, surely, he's our best defensive midfielder, i don't get it!

Ederson
Nunes
Dias
Gvardiol
O'Reilly
Bernardo
Gonzalez
Kovacic
Doku
Marmoush
Savinho

Well we now know what we have to do ... and we know we only have seven games to do it in ..... there's no hiding place for any City player now, they have to stand up and be counted, there's too much money in the Champions League NOT to qualify for it, we have to go on a winning run, starting next weekend.

Jesus I had no idea they’ve got such a good away record

Last 8 away league games

We should play all our legends. Who cares about being unadventurous, slow or weak. Pep and these legends won the CL and 5 PLs and loads of other cups. They should be allowed a kick about to be fair. If you can't see that then you obviously hate them and have no understanding of what they did for us and are essentially a rag.

Says something that no-one knows what shape we‘ll play and how we‘ll go about it - let alone which 11 will start. No wonder our performances lack any cohesion.

For what it‘s worth, I‘d go:

————————-Ederson———-
—Khusanov-Dias-Gvardiol-O‘Reilly
———-Gonzalez—Gundogan——
Savinho—-—-Foden———Grealish
———————Marmoush————-

Nunes did nothing wrong at the weekend, but I‘d prefer just one wide fullback (if any).
Foden has obviously been wank but so few options.
Toss up between Gundogan and Bernardo but at least Gundogan passes forward.
Gonzalez has to start, surely. Far better option than Kovacic.

I've tried to predict the team so many times but I start typing and then immediately give up.

With the players we've got available, I'd love to see this (below) but... you just cannot call a thing anymore.

Ederson
Nunes Khusanov Dias Gvardiol
Gonzalez O'Reilly
Doku Grealish Savinho
Marmoush
That looks quite a potent line-up - especially with the pace in the back four.
And O'Reilly in his natural position. Doubt we would see anything like it though.

It's all a bit balmy isn't it?

Jack was motm v Leicester and looks set for a run.....Nunes probably motm on Sunday maybe dropped.

You're spot on which of the 3/4 styles of play (none of which we look fluent at) will we employ.

Play the statues of the legends from outside the ground. Quicker than the first team

We should play O'Reilly in midfield because of the lack of power in there and someone running from midfIeld into the pen. area is a massive miss in our side.

I think we'll have to start with at least Savinho or Doku because Palace will likely be set up defensively. KDB and Gundogan are useless except against sides who give you time and space on the ball

I'd go with:

Ederson

Nunes Dias Gvardiol O'Reilly

Gonzalez Bernardo

Foden

Savinho Marmoush Grealish

I'd leave the defence alone for the time being after a couple of clean sheets but I suspect we might see Khusanov coming back in and Gvardiol being shunted to LB again.

Toss up between Kovacic, Gundogan and Bernardo. I put Bernardo in for his higher work rate but could really be any of the 3. Hopefully no more than one of them start.

I've included Foden more in hope than expectation that he can find some form. I perhaps would have played Bobb in his position but he didn't even make the bench yesterday so probably not fit enough to start yet. Hopefully will get some time on the pitch though. Could also swap Grealish and Foden around and see if playing on the left can somehow spark some life into Foden.

I wouldn't include Doku after the last couple of games. He and KdB are probably best used as impact subs against tiring teams.
I think Pep will play O'Reilly. He's been very effective and is a threat at set pieces too. I like the idea of Gvardiol back to left back and O'Reilly into midfield

Finally some sense in the thread.
