I will ask this again, is it or is it not beans and bog roll time?
No but it will mean millions of jobs lost in the UK, high inflation, low wage growth, higher interest rates, 18 months until people’s pensions are back in the black and unnecessary hardship for hundreds of millions worldwide.

Look if you’re not overly arsed one way or another and you’re just here to troll and/or pretend you’re playing devils advocate then do the thread a favour and go do that somewhere else for a few days. There are a lot of people in here that will be tens, if not hundreds of thousands, it’s not especially wise or cute to be flippant.

We wouldn’t have had the worst two consecutive trading days in history and the likelihood of a global recession, so you know, I disagree with that.

You're a bright lad, and it's disingenuous for you to be so simplistic. Something has to give and it's going to need one big push from someone for that to happen, we can disagree but let's see how it pans out.

Imagine, just imagine if the Democrats would have put a real politician up against cheeto boy? Instead they threw a grenade in the room and forgot to tell everyone to duck.

I don't know what this has got to do with this thread to be fair, maybe buy a megaphone and walk around Manchester voicing your support?
You said people dislike America for pretty much no reason. I just gave you a very good one which you seem to want to ridicule by saying buy a megaphone. I don’t think kids, women and hospitals being blown up is worthy of a fucking patronising response from you.

It isn't about me not being arsed, when someone states that the US is as bad as China for human rights and then doubles down on it then it deserves a mention.

Absolute bollocks. Nothing had to give. You don’t know what you’re talking about.

There's always going to be a reason isn't there? I mean literally always.

The tarrifs are not a whimsical event. They are not a result of Trumps ego or whatever your TDS thinks they are.
They are symptomatic of wider, more important issues. I think they are the tip of the iceberg tbh.

Us debt can't continue to grow.
Population birth rates can't continue to fall.
AI will do to the middle classes what mechanisation did to the lower classes.
Unfettered migration and population changes cannot continue unchecked.

I think we are entering a period of sustained economic and political uncertainty.

It's not Trump. It's everything.

I am going to recuse myself from this thread in case I get a tap on the shoulder because any opinion that doesn't involve hating our American cousins isn't welcome and it could turn into handbags.
Not handbags, threadbans. SWP and his TDS afflicted chums brigade the poster and spam the mods when they see someone is not "on message".

I'm sick of it poluting threads tbh.

hearing interest rates looking to be slashed.
That's another bogeyman lurking in the shadows: Deflation.

Inflation has been falling for a while as the money flows dry up. I don't think this is a tarrif issue. It's symptomatic of a longer malaise.

US inflation has generally been trending down since the late 70's.

F..k me. Brother-in-law just passed away leaving 25% of his £600k to Mrs Q - in shares. Not sure how much he 'lost' but what you never had you never miss. Add to that interest from our savings goin down as well. Spend it while you have it seems to be the moto.

Mods, there are many posts here that now need to be moved to the Trump/Tariff threads-good luck!! I know we quickly go off on a tangent but we're in danger of losing the basics. thanks
