There would but we're not and given the size of the rebuild needed we might not be for a while. That's also before any possible sanctions we might incur as a result of the endless 115 charges fiasco.

In one of my other posts I said the club have taken a gamble they think is worth taking regarding pricing and season tickets but it's one they might well lose badly. If our performances and success wanes they can drop prices and release more season tickets.....but would people want them if that occurs? That's the gamble. It's a policy built on sand and when the rain falls it's washed away. At the moments it's only spitting but the foundation of sand is already wobbling....

Only this. They should be securing the long-term future of the club by winning the next two generations of loud, local fans away from a God-awful United team.

Let United gamble on winning stuff in the next five years to pay for their new stadium. City should be looking much further ahead and making sure that doesn't happen.

As for the Villa prices, they need to maintain a level of consistency in pricing across the season. People will have paid for these tickets way in advance at increased prices, to maintain integrity they aren’t introducing dynamic pricing which would allow them to reduce when demand is low. The price is the price and it will be the same next season as they have frozen them.

that "small albeit vocal" section if the support knows what it's doing though

the only thing that ill be consistent about the villa game s the fact it won't have full attendance when it should, the price is indeed the price and that is the problem.
 
Is there any breakdown/info on projections of what the club could make if they lowered prices etc being put forward?

if they charged X/Y the outcome would be A/B.

(45k adults and 3.5k kids at £25/£15 for prem home games comes out at 22m a season in quick maff etc.)

Where you are right is that agent fees and maybe a slight drop in wages could cover the increase in ticket price rises but it's not root cause of them raising prices, it's just a result of greed and wanting to mirror what other clubs do

With our owners, we had a real chance to be different and stand out where pricing was concerned but as the CFG group grows, they'll be hiring people who only care about "graph goes up" numbers

I'm glad we agree on something - I would ask the question as to where did the broadcasting rights money comes from though? It's us of course, or those of us who pay through the nose (again) and chose to punt money at Sky, TNT, Amazon etc etc So you might argue again its not the club, but its us the general public. Whilst there is always a business greed (standard western commercial approach for running a profitable business) I'm not convinced that City are any worse than any other club/business.

tbh thats what I see. Match by match tickets bring a lot more in than season ticket holders would do. I dont know the sums but legacy supporters cost them profit and they dont like it. Its not even about keeping a fanbase anymore, they want to maximise profit, very business-like.

Fuck em. By the time the tourists are watching Italian or Spanish football and the PL has shrunk they will want us back. Fuck em.

Slightly off topic, I don't understand why Villa wasn't one of the guaranteed buy-back games offered up by the club. yet Bournemouth, Palace and West Ham are. Go figure?

What I don’t understand is how we have we got ourselves into a situation where we’re paying players like Grealish and Marmoush £300k/wk straight off the bat before they’ve ever kicked a ball for us. Players like Van Dijk (£220k/wk) and Griezmann (£207k/wk) have been at their clubs for years and haven’t built up to that level in that time (and Atlético have a similar matchday income to City).

And paying Haaland £525k/wk; what’s that about?

We’ve got an 18 year old on £15k/wk who I’d never heard of until I looked at our wage structure, yet Foden was playing regularly in the first team and was still only on £12k/wk until he signed a new contract at 21.

We have a higher wage bill than Real Madrid yet probably our lowest quality squad for 15 years.

Who are these other people? We aren’t United or Liverpool. Most of the time when our core support stop attending it’s very noticeable. Obviously games like Madrid it doesn’t really matter, but then the crowd is full of non city fans or away fans.

We also aren’t selling out most games either. If we have huge numbers of people willing to pick up the slack and pay these prices we don’t we sell out?

We are also adding another 7,000 seats with the north stand. Unless tickets are affordable it’s not going to look great

If the ticketing plan is to stretch the pricing as far as possible and hope the team continues to do well, I believe you are giving them too much credit in your previous posts. That is not a corporate plan; it is gamblers attempting to make a quick buck. They don't have a plan for the future; you can say they have data, they know this and that, they know fuck all, and they're making it up as they go along.

just my opinion but I think the buy back games should go and the money saved reinvested in junior season cards. (I know the Club probably saw this as a money spinner at one stage).

The data will mean the some total of fuck all if our "Bad spell" gets any longer.
