WTF are you .Even in these times of away fans and tourists taking over blocks for Champs League games, the core of our support remains fairly local. I'm sure I read a study once that the geographical position of Manc and climate - fewer days of sunshine, lots of rain - genuinely affects mood and mental health in the city (lack of vitamin D etc). Part of the reason I eventually moved south!
Factor in how economically depressed large parts of Manc still are beyond the bright lights of Ancoats, Chorlton and Didsbury - particularly the east, around and beyond the Etihad, and it's not hard to see why we have such a pessimistic core fanbase, particularly as economic outcomes go hand in hand with educational ones. I've lost count of times that even in the very best times for City as we're taking everyone to the cleaners, I'm surrounded by tired looking blokes with bald heads shouting "fastoh" as we rondo around the midfield.
TL,DR: The core of our fanbase are pre-disposed to pessimism and not educated enough to understand some of our more complex tactics. No wonder they're getting a bit fed up...
You're the one sounding pessimistic.
You cheeky sod .
