Crystal Palace (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Didn’t agree with the team selection before the game. But after the let off with the third Palace goal we were pretty good. The effort and intensity was there. Marmoush is so lively and always looking to get in behind.

Rico Lewis has to do better for the first goal. Never has any awareness what’s around him. He is unlucky Eze was offside for the third.

And i’m really liking the look of Nico o’Reilly. Targetted by Palace in the first half. He isn’t a LB. But strong, quick and really good fast feet. Can’t wait to see him play as an 8.
Nico takes the same blame as Rico in the first goal. But Nico and team mates made sure it didn’t happen too much more after that. There was another occasion Nico let the palace right wing player cut back too easily and almost led to a goal around 30 min. But I think Nico will be a proper city level player. He has the speed and intelligence that is already much better than Doku.

Still here lad , the team
Were rightfully called out because they were awful .
What’s wrong with voicing an opinion compared to being a happy flapper ?
The team was placing well even at 3:0 down. Your opinions were Pep is trash, team selection was trash, ederson was trash, Gundo, Kova and KDB all trash. And Lewis was trash. Recruitment was trash.

Haha just read the match day thread. What a bunch of mardarsed cunts. Fucking embarrassing. Notice it’s mainly the same ones each week - that never go to games so don’t actually see what is really going on. Kovatic was superb, McAtee movement brilliant, and Rico involved with so many little touches and movements that started so many attacks.
It’s obviously fine to be upset at being 2-0 down but it’s 90 minutes you tools and we’ve the best manager EVER in charge.
We totally nullified them after their disallowed goal and they didn’t know what hit them. So many posters made complete tools of themselves. About 3 were big enough to admit they were wrong at least. The rest of the know nowts disappeared surprise surprise.
4 man box shape midfield of Nico, Kova, Gundo and Kev when defending was genius once they got to grips with it.
Try going to the odd game live if you can and you might actually know what’s going on instead of taking Rio fucking Ferdinand’s word for it!!!!

Because I don't go any more I inhabit the Matchday Thread more than I ever used to. However I was out today so couldn't follow it and like you I've reviewed it afterwards. There was a lot of really, really negative stuff on there. At 2-0 people actually saying the manager should go.

I absolutely understand people getting frustrated. However, to question Guardiola after one bad season is absolutely fucking ridiculous. Some of the comments were off the scale.

What I will say though is well done to the MODs in not constraining those opinions - once we start censoring that stuff is when we become RAWK. It's what football's all about. The absolute emotion of it. Fans calling for the manager to be sacked, after everything we've done since he's been here. It's emotion and I'm sure some of those posting that stuff are a bit embarrassed. However, it's why we love the game.

Long live the Matchday Thread.

Well that should shut a few moaning cunts up.

5 goals and they said it was the wrong selection, one even said the worst in pep’s reign.

Clown world.

Get in City!!!!
To be fair they didn't look like clowns in the first 25mins.
Kev,Gundo and Kovacic didn't want to lose today and it showed with good effort and performances.
Another Eddie assist is amazing
It's great being a Blue. CTID

I agree, I didn't hear any in and around Colin Bell stand. Whose said there were boos ?
Am block 211 level two and didn't here a single boo not even what we thought was their third goal.
At halftime I had a fiver on City 5-3 win @20/1 close but no cigar. CTID.
Win our home games draw at Everton should be enough for top five.
Keep the faith

Neville putting in snide digs earlier about the booing after Palace got the second.
I heard nothing of the sorts
Dear DTKOAG, I don't know how long you've been watching City, but it's likely to be a while if your name is a tribute to a certain Mr Tueart.
During your time as a supporter you will have noticed Gary Neville is one of the worst know-nowts on the punditry circuit, and a shite manager when given the chance. The boos are a figment of his overactive imagination, or possibly he was calling out for booze. His single positive contribution to the beautiful game was feeding the Goat in the last derby at Maine Road. Other than that he is a waste of space. Please don't take him seriously again as it's bad for your blood pressure.

Didn't expect that. Tremendous result. Weird thing is I didn't feel like that was a 5-2 game and I also felt like both city and palace actually missed their best chances which could easily have resulted in a crazy, memorable scoreline.

I along with everybody else questioned the lineup but once again Pep shown he knows best. Could have been 4 down before we scored mind and that would have turned nasty if we did. lot of luck in that result today, certainly wasn't a blueprint to copy going forward but some brilliant individual performances got us an absolutely crucial 3 points.

Special mention to gundo and kdb, both rallied the side and the crowd too, led from the front and dragged us back into that game through their quality but also sheer determination, they both really showed the value of players who have been there and done it today.
You have always been the more constructive side in this forum. There are ones who write off the team and every single one in it everyday and keep arguing that they are correct no matter how the outcome slapped their face.

Great we won and after very strong 2nd half. 1st half been good, besides goals we had KDB/McAtee sitters. Every top team need some momentum.

Game again proved many doubters wrong. Popular thesis before the game no wide players is a mistake, wheres Doku/Savinho. It was not the case at all, we been creating really well. Another, why Rico/Kovacic starting, both were good. KDB over Grealish had apparently merits too.

Really hoping for strong finish by City and today is a right direction.

The commentator on the stream I watched the game on said there was booing but I couldn’t hear it.

I actually let out a loud ffs when palace scored their third but fortunately it was disallowed and we didn’t look back.

Strange game we were shocking for 25 mins ,went from 3 down to 2 each in 10minutes,and that was the best we've played all season! God only knows how Palace faded so quick? Still think top 5 is a stretch, better teams than us out there, fingers crossed. Up the Blues.

The 1st goal was down to playing somebody at fullback who isn’t the least bit defensively aware, I thought the corner for the 2nd came from a shove on O’Reilly but you could say he wasn’t strong enough, the 3rd that wasn’t saved our bacon, after that KDB took control of the game and the rest is history.

Great game today, little shaky defense in the biggining but who cares when our offense was back to the one we are used to see. Kev was amazing he showed his old self and that is was city missed all season. That and a proper replacement in the Rodri position but they fixed that I the January window. Really hoping we find right with the kdb replacement is so important. Many was really good today, like to point out Nico Reily he's not in a position he are used to play in but does damn good.
