Crystal Palace (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

That is nonsense.

We played the whole game pretty much the same way (until the last 20 mins when we went more into keep what we've got mode). We created the same amount of chances in the first 20 mins as the we did the next 20 mins. The difference was the we took our chances and didn't give them as many clear breaks.
whatever you think

Pep clearly tweeked something..I saw him with my own eyes talking to the players and pointing. Marmoush started reasonably central but pulled wider and McAtee started moving mroe central...(not central but off the touchline....nothing to do with chance creation but more to do with how quickly we were winning the ball back when we lost it....why did they stop getting through to out back line for the vast majority of the game after around the time of their thrid disallowed goal?

Villa is a "must not lose"
Chelsea, Villa, Forest and Newcastle all have games against other top five contenders in the run in
Chelsea have Newcastle, Liverpool and Forest!
Prob is Liverpool will have clinched shortly and will be on the beach. Games against them may not be as difficult after the leagues done & dusted.

I think if we win our 3 home games plus at Southampton, and graft another point at either Everton or Fulham, we'd be unlucky to miss out with 68pts as that's been ample enough to finish in the top 4 in the past 3 seasons, and we have 5th as a safety net this year too.

We created 12 big chances today. I’m gonna say without checking that’s the most this season in one game. So bizarre when you consider just how bad that opening 30 was.

it was a funny start to the game and City should have scored a couple before Palace scored their 1st, the 2nd goal was a joke, So bad was the defending and the keeper you had to laugh at how bad we have become,

But something happened between the VAR check on a possible 3rd goal for Palace that changed the game, I don't know what happened but it was like somebody flicked a switch and the old city was back, So good was the comeback i even thought we would go in at half time 3.2 up.

It was that sort of moment in a season when you say that won us the title or won us a cup, If or when we get a top 4 place or a Champions League spot for next season we can look back and say Palace at home that game

We played the same way the whole game. We had chances in the first third, the 2nd and the final 3rd as well. Only difference was we took our chances later on.

Their goals came from one break and poor defending/keeping from a corner. It wasn't as if they were battering us and we changed something.

We should have been well up at half time and 2-2/3-3 after the first 20 mins wouldn't have been an unfair score. It was a great team performance and we could have easily scored 10.

If we want to moan if the team are playing shit we will. It was a great comeback and in the end we got a great result. However it's a match day thread and you comment as you see the game going. If I want to comment what I see on the pitch I will do. If you want to pretend your happy for likes you do that.
Feel free. Most people were moaning before it even kicked off (particularly the person you quoted)... and I'm more than happy to call it out.

The negative and defeatist attitude of some fans needs mentioning. Have one bad season and act like it's the end of the world and all doom and gloom.

was it mcatee that missed a chance in the first few minutes

Marmoush didn’t start anywhere near central, and was never central in the whole game. He played inside left, definitely his best position.

Held off writing on pre match and match day thread especially after the learning the line up and going 2 nil down I thought my suspicions were right! How wrong I was to doubt it at full time! Not usually all doom and gloom or a happy clapper quite level headed about it all but even today I can hold my hands up and say pep was right after I had big wobble at 2 nil down telling everyone who would listen how I was right and I could see it coming! 5 teams for 3 places it’s gunna be a good run in glad we got the 3 points and a good 60mins of football!!!

Think a combination of Gundogan being moved nearer O'Reilly and Gvardiol getting his head screwed on helped. Palace lost Mateta at HT but he'd been struggling since just before their second goal as well. They couldn't get up the pitch in the end - think that one De Bruyne left in on Eze hurt him as well.

I just want to big up McAtee. He ballooned a sitter over the bar and could have gone to pieces. He didn't and then was very cool to round the keeper and slot a good goal home.

Also loved one of the many Nicos we have, OReilly is going to be some player.
Watch the brief highlights on City website. He is involved in three goals I think.

Weird game, a bit Kevin Keegan, even if Palace scored four we could have scored seven. First half our defence was a mess, keeper, defenders all over the shop BUT we got forward in numbers and had bags of chances. Pep must have got some pelters at 0-2 cos he turned around and really chewed someone out when we got it back to 2-2, maybe a tunnel club member complaining the wine wasn’t room temperature. Anyhow, a wins a win and Palace are no mugs. Everton will be horrendous with it being the last time they play us at Goodison, and Villa is a must win or defo must not lose!

Oh I didn't know this was happening before the game to be honest. Even still if someone didn't like the look of a line-up they have the right to say whether they agree with it or not.

This is something that's been going on for years on bluemoon not just this season. If someone posts something slightly negative, all the happy clappers start getting personal or start being a keyboard warrior to posters.

It's like when other fans come on here and disagree with something they get called a WUM. It's pathetic it's a fucking forum. We are all entitled to our own opinions. People don't need to start getting personal or attacking others, cos they wouldn't do it face to face.

Well done City, a well deserved & highly entertaining win.
I watched the game at The Beach Cabin in Tenerife, which is a nice & welcoming City Bar overlooking the beach.
Big shout out to Howard, the chairman of the Tenerife Branch of the City supporters club who was good company.

You don't need to be a happy clapper or keyboard warrior to call out negative bullshit.

Also, if you're willing to share an opinion, you must also be willing to hear someone disagree with it? No?

The keyboard warriors are the ones who moan on here and probably sit quietly at matches (or more likely don't even go) without offering anything close to what a team needs. Or maybe the people Pep cupped his ears to today?

I've been on this forum since 2007 so I know how it works. But thanks for the explanation.
