Miedama came on for the Netherlands last night on sixty-odd mins, scored, and went off after seventy-odd mins. Another absentee for Sunday?
Casparij was also substituted at half time in that game but no news of it being injury related. Same for Ouahabi for Spain.

In brighter news, Kerolin did this as Brazil beat USA 2-1...

North West Tonight sport, just now talking about the women's semi finals this weekend
"City take on Utd this Sunday , with Utd taking the honours last time they met"
(With a video clip of Utd scoring in the game at the Etihad) .
But in fact it was City that won the last game between us , knocking them out of the League Cup a couple days after .

So when did we start calling the Cup Holders "The Champions" ?
Oh when it's your favorite team I expect !

Team needs a reboot. New manager, fit players and try again.
I think the squad (with everyone fit) is more than good enough, but a new manager can't come in soon enough for me, I think we'll need a new CB in the summer.

I only watched until the rag second goal yesterday, but they panned to our injury crisis in the stands, and virtually a whole team were sat there together, no team would cope well with that many injured, and I thought the mens team were in a mess injury wise, but nothing on that scale, and it looks like we've got a new name to add to the list.

It would be good to know when some of them will be fit again, or what some of the injuries actually are, but there doesn't seem to be many updates.

It's not just how many we're missing through injury at the moment but who. 5 of the captain's group/senior players were sat in the stand along with enough others to make up an XI a-side team. Greenwood (actual captain), Shaw (vice captain), Miedema (WSL all-time leading scorer), Hemp (probably our most consistent attacker over the last few years) and Roord (club record signing) all provide leadership out on the pitch and that was something lacking out there yesterday.

Not to mention our best wide attacker this season, and now Fowler has most likely joined them, that is definitely an injury crisis.

It'll be interesting to see how many of our injured star players - notably Greenwood (out 5 months), Hemp (out 6 months), Roord (who knows what wrong but she's been underwhelming anyway), and Miedema (injured most of the season) - make miraculous recoveries in time to play in the Euros and feature throughout the tournament.

Call me sceptical but Id wager they all manage to pull a Darren Anderson and recover from injury and then trot out for that tournament.

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me.

Maybe it’s just me and/or I’m looking in the wrong places, but there seems to be a lamentable lack of information out there about matters related to our women’s team, and your point in relation to injury updates is a prime example - and very frustrating one tbh.

Mary Fowler on her contributions to the 2 goals of Australia against South Korea. It looks like she is not only a gifted young footballer, but also has a knack for humor. I hope she recovers quickly and not to leave by the end of the season.

There's clearly been a directive this season to be as evasive as possible around injury news. I'm not really sure who is behind that decision or why but it goes right back to Shimizu getting her ACL at the olympics last year. I think it took about 6 weeks for the club to confirm that. I know a couple of writers/broadcasters who are pretty well connected in the women's game but they've been completely stonewalled around this kind of stuff at times.

It's a weird one. On one hand, I don't think fans necessarily have a right to know about any individual's medical status, but at the same time it's odd that this only seems to be a thing for our women's side. If anything, I think it's just created quite a destabilising atmosphere around the team.

And it surely can't be because we don't want other teams to have the inside track on our injury news because it's not as if all of these players aren't talking to their friends, international teammates and partners who play for rival sides.

If you control information, you have power.
