Protest v Wolves

I think the timing of the protests is wrong. Surely the time to apply maximum pressure and give the club time to think and make revisions is prior to the City Matters meeting. It would make more sense to pull out all the stops against Villa so they absolutely understand that there are still serious unresolved issues. Wait until Wolves and it is pretty much too late.
we surveyed supporters so whilst we take into account and respect everyone's opinions we have to make a call somewhere, for everyone that says what you say someone else says, villa is a big game and we need to b there from the start, so we've tried to be reasonable. people said the last protest wouldn't work either but in fact the impact went worldwide - we've created another opportunity for the fans, its' a tap in now just take advantage of it

I supported the 9 min boycott though slightly conflicted if continued boycotts will work( I fear less people will boycott this time and it'll be a damp squid)

The club have frozen season card prices and people will now think it's pointless boycotting. Things like viagogo and membership ticket prices won't impact 70% of the ground so they'll it's pointless to miss more of a match.
it's either that or a row full of strangers every home game around you. and you can't complain next season if your match day experience is awful.

club have a chance to respect the elected fan groups. if they don't then they can't complain. don't talk down the power you, me and all of us have. glass half full not half empty !

I actually think it would be a good idea to have banners in the stands as well.

My only fear with doing the concourse protest again is that less season ticket holders will take part as it doesn’t affect them directly as much (match day prices for example).
let's work towards a strong concourse turnout again if the club hold back again, there is an 8000 capacity increase next season and no new season tickets - that will change the dynamics forever. talk up fan power not down mate !

I agree mate. I’ll be joining in and want it to be a success. I’m just thinking about what’s the next best step, which has the most impact.

£71 to watch the best football team in the world wether its City, Real Madrid, Barca is cheap
Have you seen concert prices, the theatre?
Make your mind up. Yesterday, you admitted that matchday tickets are too expensive and that’s what we should be protesting about. Now you’re claiming they’re cheap.

You can get individual adult match tickets for Bayern for as cheap as €19. A Dad could find a weekend where there are cheap flights to Munich, get match tickets for him and his Son for a game at Bayern, for cheaper than he could get the Matchday Bus and two tickets to a City home game in his own city.

You can get individual adult match tickets for Liverpool for as cheap as £9 (they have 10,000 a season at £9 for adults and they’re only for people with an ‘L’ post code: https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/an...e-ticket-initiatives-for-young-and-local-fans).

Then there are the extortionate price of child tickets at City. They’re anything from £32-62 across the stadium. Almost all children’s tickets at Lpool are £9 and at United are £13.

City are doing it wrong!

Also, if you read what this protest would be about, it’s also about Season Ticket availability. City haven’t issued a new ST ticket to a City fan for 5 years.
The seat next to me was a ST holder of decades who was finally priced out 2 years ago and it’s been a different person who’s bought from the club’s ticket tout partners next to me every game since. Not a single one of the visitors next to me has been a local fan, only two have been from Britain, many are fans of the opposition or an opposition player or the seat goes empty (and I’ve never been able to buy it for a mate or my Dad through City’s official ticket site, it’s greyed out for every single game).

It being a fan of the opposition, an opposition player or the seat going empty is not fucking good enough.

People of an age to get their first season tickets, can’t get one. Dad’s who’ve got kids who are of an age to come to the game now, can’t get them STs.

So who the fuck’s going to support this club when we’re dead?

Good luck anyway mate. You have my 100% support whatever is attempted. Just hope the club listens.

£71 isn't cheap mate, in fact it's a rip off when you factor in family prices. I can't figure out if you're a WUM or just that insensitive that people can't afford these prices.

Fine with the reasoning, I'll be taking part.

I already have family members who haven't been able to get their season tickets back and can see a future scenario where the younger ones will never be able to get one.

thinking about it im st holder and both lads are it appears the club or ticket manager is scared individual people making a small profit on resale ticket that they think the club are entittled to. match tickets should be 30 pounds adult and tenner for kids maybe prime seating on sides dearer then coporate pricing box, tunnel club and lounges. the resale because what they signed up for stupid kick of times and night games creates a resale market and i feel their annoyed that 30 quid ticket because of supply and demand might change hands for tenner more and they feel thats their money profit

side note and mum or dad that at presently st holder at a bare minimum should be able to buy kids a season ticket

I got my lad his first season ticket when he was 9, and we’ve been going to every home game together ever since. It’s really sad to think that younger parents simply won’t get that opportunity with their kids. That surely can’t be right.

We're already below the league average.

That's before we introduce 9,000 more seats with no new season tickets.

I imagine we'll be the lowest in the league percentage wise after that.
I'd be interested to see that stats for that as my understanding is that up until them stopping new season tickets 6 years ago, we had a very high percentage of season ticket holders, which is why they stopped selling them in the first place.

Not selling season tickets does create the problem of people hoarding them as they know they won't get it back if they gave it up. 2 people in my group haven't gone in years but still have season tickets that they have passed on to two other people in all but name.

I’d give anything to get that opportunity, Ric. My lad is 10.

It feels like a pipe dream now unfortunately, although I will of course support the demonstrations wholeheartedly.

From the PL:
The Premier League says:

  • Season ticket holders account for 75% of tickets sold;
  • Average price paid is claimed to be £38;
  • Prices are estimated to have increased by around 7% since 2023-24;
  • Prices have risen below the rate of inflation since 2017-18;
  • Away tickets are currently capped at £30;
  • 99% of tickets have been sold so far this season.

We're actually higher percentage wise than I thought, I think we're believed to have around 36,000 of 53,400, although that figure is 2 years old. Still below the 75% figure the PL is putting out there.

Assuming 36,000 is correct, it'll soon be 36000/62,400.

Our Matchday single ticket prices are a disgrace, a piss take and pricing out many people. That alongside the lack of new season tickets means I fully support the reason for the protest.

I stayed on the concourse for 9 mins for Leicester alongside most of the group I sit with, and I'll be doing the same for the Wolves game if it goes ahead. As I'm racing back from working in London on Tuesday 22nd I won't be at the Villa protest as I'll be lucky make the kick-off at all tbh, but I fully Support those who do.

I'm in my 50s and had a season ticket continually since 1977 when I started going age 7. In a different lifetime 7 year old me simply couldn't have the luxury of attending now with my parents as there's both no avenue to a season ticket and the prices alone would've made it unaffordable. I'd like young Blues to have the opportunity I had - a chance to go to the game regularly with your mum/dad or another relative. At the moment unless you have a large amount of disposable income this isn't possible. Just because the club is cash rich, it doesn't mean large sections of our core fanbase are too.
