Priced out? | Club announce that matchday tickets being reduced by up to 43% (p93)

Selling or facilitating the sale of football tickets without authorisation is a criminal offence in the UK. The problem is these sites operate from outside the UK.
In which case you could prosecute the original ticket holder for touting as I doubt any would sell to the agency without making a profit.

City have opened up sales for the semi final to 4 tickets per member… in this instance, fans are obviously buying them for mates or other family members. Therefore buying them themselves then receiving money from others for the tickets. Does this fall under that umbrella?

Interesting article in the latest WSC about Bradford offering advance tickets to home and away fans for £5. Their lowest crowd of the season, 14547 is higher than any other attending the division bar one. The article also highlights the City fans protest v Leicester.

Touting isn't an offence in itself (although it should be). Selling at face value, or even giving tickets away, is technically a criminal offence however. Ric is technically committing a criminal offence by hosting a site that allows the sale of tickets. Decide among yourselves who's grassing him up. The Face Value sites on social media are acting illegally by facilitating the sale of tickets without authorisation. And what bugs me about those sites is that they say they're 'Face value or less' but if I sell my ticket for Villa for, say, £45, that's 'face value or less' but I've made double the pro-rata £23.42 price I effectively paid for it. Isn't that touting?

If you transfer a ticket using Friends & Family via the ticket website then I guess you implicitly have authorisation from the ticket issuer.

No, because the key phrase is “Without the clubs authorisation “

This is why Sportsworld can legally sell tickets for £300 ( They have the clubs permission ) But if I gave my ticket away to a friend for free, I’d technically be breaking the law. ( No permission )

Sorry, says the file is too big to upload. The gist is quite fair, linking the nine minute protest to the nine ticketing agencies City use and highlighting particular issues with Viagogo. It says City are one of nine Premier League clubs have top price season tickets over £1000 and ends by saying much of what has been said here, that clubs ignore long standing traditional supporters at their peril

In our cases selling at face value is a tricky comparison as we each have old git concessions however young we look.

You not a paid member or something mate?

They're sending emails out regularly to ST holders now. Apparently we can buy 4 for tomorrow! Says it all.

I made no secret that I gave my Matchday membership up because big games weren't to be had, £35 down the swanny for the hell of it.

If the club can't shift the tickets it's on them mate.

Oh and I am there tomorrow like I have been to most matches, but it has been on my terms.

The match is a little over 24 hours away it makes you wonder why the club didn't put them on sale the same way the semi final tickets were on sale.

Either way it's a shit do ;-)

Someone with power at the club has to be looking at this and thinking, "We've got to do something about it with an extra 8,000 seats to shift." It's become clear that their entire ticketing plan was to milk the fans as much as possible while we're performing well. There was no thought given to what happens when we are not performing well. It's actually poor organisational management.

We've seen how completely out of his depth Berrada is now that he's at United without a genius for a manager to hold everything together, and I think the rest of our executives are just as mediocre.
