Which - a ticket to the semi - final or a wife ??Strange - we’ve been told we get ours in the week of the match
Love this!March 1970, Wembley West Brom.
We left early my dad, his 2 mates, and 10 Yr old me. We got as far as the M56 before M6 junction when the car We were in broke down. They tried to fix it, but couldn't. They decided to give up organise a tow back to Blackley. I couldn't take it. I cried and sobbed like a baby. Finally my Dad said we would try and hitchhike, the two of us.
After standing on the hard shoulder of the Motorway for what seemed ages a car stopped and we were on our way.
I remember it was a big posh car, or was for us. We got as far as Luton, then we got another lift to Watford ( I think). From there an unpaid train to Wemley.
We won.
Now what my Dad had not said was that we were potless. We had to get a train to London, then another to Manchester and hid in the Mail van. At Piccadilly we just walked past the collectors.
I remember it all so clearly.
Hook or Crook get there if you ca n.
What issues?Yeah we must attend every single game ever off the back of it. Great story, doesn't change the many issues blues have with Wembley these days
Great storyLove this!

I was very young and my old man drove through Derby over the top to go to the M1. I threw up due to car sickness in Derby. At the match was on the side seats and remember big Mal with the cup and the state of the pitch.March 1970, Wembley West Brom.
