The Squad planning thread

Oh so you mean we're going to pull together a ragtag band of loanees to learn our playing style and play in one specific tournament?

Sorry, but it's probably far fetched even for a computer game
insulting, but i am just going to take it that your one of those, easily led by the red cartel, after all it is them that are playing down, what could be the most prestigious tournament in the world, lets just take 2 players, to empathize the importance of this competition to the owners, club, management and players. When is Haaland going to win the world cup, when are the Nowiegians going to celebrate, Haaland, he has won a treble and still lost the Ballon D Or to a semi retired player. The ragtag Osimhen, currently out on loan with a price tag dropping, when is Osimhen going to win the world cup, when are the people of Nigeria going to celebrate winning the world cup?
We will not be playing our style of play in the CWC, the weather conditions, the refereeing and the pace of the game will make that extremely difficult, add all the players that have failed so far, it will make a quick exit.
I do not think any of our sponsors/colleague's will enjoy your view, losing out on 4 years of boasting regardless of any other results is a very big thing for them.

Our we definitely tracking him?
Sacha Tavolieri and Football Insider seem to be the ones pushing hte story, better than Ficjhaes i suppose.

(unless you wanted to make a tracking Reindeer xmas joke)

Relax! We are working on it :) Trying as we speak to convince Nwaneri to choose Nigeria over England. Couldn't convince Saka s few years back. But we keep trying :) Trust the process....

You've taken all that from me saying that loaning players isn't realistic?

Realistically in terms of HG players that I could potentially see joining:

Guehi, Branthwaite, Livramento, Wharton, Gibbs-White, Eze, Delap, Dibling

Think you can add Frimpong to that aswell.

Then you have to weigh up whether selling the likes of: Stones, Ake, Grealish is worth it when they would likely to be replaced by other HG players.

Not a chance Newcastle sell any of their top players and why would they want to leave?

Newcastle are on the up.

And Dibling, do me a favour we have an academy full of far more talent.

9320 saying Cambiaso is being brought in for LB now over being a RB. Nice.
I heard someone mention that—do you think we’re targeting a left-back in the form of Vanderson or Frimpong as a homegrown option? Or maybe someone else, like Aina on a free?

I would imagine most of our buys are waiting on CL qualification.

Incomings may sadly look very different if we don't qualify.

Huge period coming up for the future of the club, no CL will be a massive blow.

Hopefully Nathan Ake’s injury troubles are behind him. He’s always been quality.
I think John boy has had his days with us. Absolutely top class.
Jack Grealish, for whatever reason/s look like being surplus to requirements.
I don’t think is completely necessary to replace HG with HG as we could/ should have a few holes to fill.

So before i say who my players for in are, there are a few things to acknowledge. first is our signing's for the last 4 years have been poor, it is not the players, although over this period, we had a higher than our usual failure rate, it is the numbers game, our squad got older and slower because of. Pep did not help with his small squad size preference, getting hit badly by the new 5 man substitution rule, which meant that our players were not just playing more games, they were playing harder, as shitty teams just kept the work rate higher through fresh legs.
Then there is the club world cup, to me and you it may well be unimportant, get the £30 million and walk away, but to the clubs higher management, this is a chance to show what can be achieved through investment, to our sponsors this is 4 years of good publicity, to our coaching management the pinnacle, to every player in the world a chance to be the best for 4 years ,Ronaldo would probably pay City to be involved, the next Ballon winner will probably come from this competition.
So it is not about pushing anybody out, just not taking them, this is going to be a fast, tricky, and cheating cup in hot weather.
In Savic loan to buy Torino the clown price of Europe is very different from Ederson and more effective,
in Kerkez loan to buy LB.
In Lamptey register LWB.
In Branthwaite loan to buy CB.
In Aina register RWB
In Frimpong RWB loan
Bring back Bah
Not going Ederson, Ake, Stones. Akanji leave them to get fit for next season, if they stay, move Khusanov in to the RB spot.
In Baleba loan to buy DM B2B.
Not going Kovacic, Gundogan, maybe Bernardo?
Going KDB one last hurrah in a younger faster squad.
In Osimhen loan RW ST LW.
In Sesko loan to buy ST.
Not going McAtee.
In Osimhen loan.
Clubs will loan us players to up their value, out of contract players will jump at the chance of going, to better their contracts

I believe there are pretty strict rules regarding loan players. If I am reading your post correctly, you have eight players suggested for loan, and four of those from the Premier League?

A limit of four loan players may be registered on a club's roster at one time, with no more than one from the same club and no more than two from other Premier League clubs. A club may not loan out a player they have acquired that same window to another Premier League club.

Or, am I completely misunderstanding what you are getting at?

never seen decent a link to Vanderson, dont rate Frimpong (as a RB), think we'll see a left field shout like Rațiu or that Hilali kid

I was considering Frimpong mainly because he’s homegrown, but aside from that, I’m not overly keen. I actually prefer Vanderson.

On another note, do we have any links to Ratiu or Omar? I watched Omar give Viní Jr. a difficult time—he’s an exceptional defender for his age.

yes, during the Jan window and in some smaller reports (KDB/MGW reports etc taking the headlines) but Ive no doubt both have been scouting recently from reports.

How many outfield players do you think we’ll actually sign or intend to sign? I’ve heard rumors it could be as many as six.
