Personality wise I think they’re poles apart (gundo and arteta). I don’t see gundo working with pep. I see him back in Germany, ?dortmund and starting there. IMO he has a completely different character to pep and I don’t think they’d work well as a coaching team.
Strange that. No saying you’re wrong..
I thought they had a great relationship. I also thought that Gundo had began his coaching badges at City. I also thought that It was Gundo who was credited with the ‘4 man box’ system with Stones joining from the back four..
I might have got that wrong. I just thought they got one famously.

I agree they appear to get along really well. Both seem very intelligent honest types. I don’t see gundo working in a pep way. I think he’s gonna be less emotional. Maybe less experimental at times. I’d be interested to listen to his philosophy relating to football.

It does feel that Gundo may me less emotional. Maybe they could create a successful synergy out of their mutual respect.
Maybe I’m being too hopeful..

I would love it if gundo came in as peps no2 for a couple years then took over. Just can’t see him wanting to work with pep initially. Like I said I think he’ll start in Germany.

Was watching psg and all the other top European teams who attack with pace just like we used to do and suddenly remembered we are provably gonna give gundo another year aswell as kova who in there day have been great fit us especially gundo but we will get ripped apart against any top team like this season. Sorry but unless he’s gonna be a coach then gundo has to go because if he stays he plays as pep will not drop him . He played well against palace and the other mid table teams but have been massively wanting against top tier .

Pep allowed him to do a couple of coaching sessions in his first spell.

As long as he is purely a backup 8, like Kova, im fine with it.

The starting midfield should be Rodri, Nico and Reijnders/Camara (I favour Reijnders more than Camara, but Camara is a good alternative).

Then a backup of say Wharton, Gundogan, Kova, O Reilly and Lewis.

Wharton will cost upwards of Stg70m , isn't worth that much, and will not come here to be a 2nd choice player.

Another good game, there's life in the old (gun)dog yet. Have absolutely no problem with him being here next year to play the role he was supposed to play this season.

I’d like to see him as peps understudy but not on the pitch as ok he has played well against Everton and palace but got ripped apart by any top teams. Pep will play him virtually every game next season and we will not be winning titles with gundo in the team .

If we sign Gibbs-White, Pep won’t play Gündoğan every game.

He tries to go forward. That’s the biggest compliment I can pay him right now - in a non-sarcastic way. One of very few who wants to make things happen and drives us on.

So we are happy for gundo to stay another year but didn’t want kdb staying which I find surprising to say least .
Need KDBs wages freed up if we are going to bring in top players. Suspect Gundogan maybe offers more off the pitch as well. KDB was all about grabbing games by the scruff of the neck and moments of on the pitch brilliance but clearly city don’t think he will be available anywhere near enough. Sad , been brilliant but both need to move forward apart.

I agree that both need to move on mate

Well you need to be realistic, Kev's performances fell of a cliff and he is just an injury away - no matter how severe - to come to complete stop as a player. He is is like 95% down on what he was 2 years ago, not even a shadow of himself.

Gundog is still playing the same game, very often running it and although he is slowing down what is natural with his age, I can see him performing alongside Rodri and another MF. Very similar to how Merlin was fading away, unlike Kev who just got broken somehow.

Agreed this was what he was brought back to do - with the injury issues he has played way more than i suspect he was intended to do.
