The Villa and Chelsea wins this weekend really make some of our defeats and dropped points in games seem even more important.

1-0 up and 2-1 up against Brighton - ended 2-2
0-0 at Forest on 83mins
0-2 up on 82mins, still 1-2 up on 92mins at Brentford
0-1 up on 78mins at Brighton
1-0 up against United on 88mins

That’s 11 points dropped after 78 minutes in 5 games there.

Even if we’d managed to hang on for wins against United, Brentford and Brighton; that’s 7 points.

Annoying!

Don’t onow why anyone worries about what other teams do, get 10 points from the last 5 games and we are fine. Beat Villa and another 6 wil do.

Quite amazing how Bournemouth, Fulham and Brighton have all fallen off so incredibly badly - they collectively have 4 wins in their last 18 matches. And one of those was Bournemouth beating Fulham. Now none of them have any chance at Europe.

Big pressure on Forest tomorrow now who suddenly find themselves in 6th. They've lost two games and are dropping like a stone.

I don't think I've ever said this before....

"Come on you Spurs"

"Alright, mate"

Thought I heard from the commentary that Caicedo is suspended for their Liverpool game due to yellow card accumulation, but I may have misheard.
Yeah, i think they'll be one of two to drop out of this top 7, top 5 race. as for the other?? Forest i think

You say ‘beat Villa’ like it’s just that easy. This isn’t the City of the last eight years that we all trusted under any pressure to deliver.

We’re fifth in the table and 18 points off the top, for a reason. We’ve not won three PL games in a row since October and we’ve dropped some criminal points at times by being nothing short of utterly shit.

Even on this little unbeaten run we’re currently on, nobody can say that we’ve played particularly well against Spurs, Brighton, Leicester, United and Everton. We didn’t play well against Palace, granted.

Not saying we won’t or can’t do it, but I can see why many have worries about it and everyone looking at the other teams.

No point in pretending otherwise, those results at Villa Park and Craven Cottage are an absolute disaster.

We need to beat Villa
Need to put things in perspective. This isn’t one of the epic title races we’ve been involved in where dropping any points would be terminal.
This is a different ballgame in that rivals here aren’t machines and they will drop points. Avoiding defeat against Villa then beating Southampton and Wolves should put us in a very solid position.

We don't need to beat Villa at all.

It's by far our hardest game and then we have the easiest run in of the lot.

This isn't the title race, you dont have to win every game. 9 points (67 overall) from 15 will probably be enough.

We really don't. A draw would be absolutely fine.

We'd stay ahead of Villa, plus at least one of the others has to drop points because they play eachother multiple times before the end of the season. So we'd go into the last 4 matches, with by far the easiest set of fixtures, knowing we just have to match the results of 2 of the other 4 teams. There's a reason we're currently at ~90% odds of qualifying.

Of course, just beating Villa would be the much easier way of doing it, nobody is disputing that.
