I changed my vote a bit naughty maybe but I’m confident that we will do it now.Chelsea have tough games and others will chip points off when they meet.
Do we really think Kev would allow us not to qualify before he goes.
No.

Villa, Forest, Newcastle, and City all have winnable fixtures. Chelsea have the hardest run-in in including Europa League fixtures on top. More likely it's going to be 3 from 4. We can afford a point against Villa, but probably not much more than that. Wolves will be tricky, and of course, Fulham (A) last game will be nervy. We need to try and win on Tuesday to give us a breathing space.

We don't need to beat Villa at all.

It's by far our hardest game and then we have the easiest run in of the lot.

This isn't the title race, you dont have to win every game. 9 points (67 overall) from 15 will probably be enough.
We have struggled against some absolute shite teams this season so I'm not sure about easy run ins.

Newcastle play Brighton, Chelsea and Arsenal; if they're all winnable, what are you classing as not winnable?

They are tough games, and they will drop points in at least one of them, they've just got slapped by Villa so they are far from a top side, and will therefore drop points.

Aside from playing us, Villa could well win all their games, but if they don't beat us, they'll have to as they have the worst goal difference.

Forest have easier games on paper but I think they'll struggle now, seem to be running out of steam a little, and they absolutely have to win tomorrow from a physiological point of view.

I'm ruling Chelsea out, brutal games, and I can't see a situation where they beat Newcastle and Forest and we still fail to get top 5! Also, I think Chelsea are the worst of the 5 in contention and can throw a game the easiest.

So if we are 5th for a reason, what does that make Villa's 7th?
If you’d got the gist of my post, I was answering his question in his first words, for why people are worried about what other teams do. It’s not necessarily my view what I posted, I was saying that some people worry about what other teams do because of the manner in which we have dropped points this season, which draws in the importance of others teams’ results.

There is, in other words, no nightmare scenario where we finish fifth and the rags deny us a CL place by winning the Thursday night cup…
Correct. Fifth place is 100% guaranteed a CL place irrespective of whatever else might happen.

You say ‘beat Villa’ like it’s just that easy. This isn’t the City of the last eight years that we all trusted under any pressure to deliver.

We’re fifth in the table and 18 points off the top, for a reason. We’ve not won three PL games in a row since October and we’ve dropped some criminal points at times by being nothing short of utterly shit.

Even on this little unbeaten run we’re currently on, nobody can say that we’ve played particularly well against Spurs, Brighton, Leicester, United and Everton. We didn’t play well against Palace, granted.

Not saying we won’t or can’t do it, but I can see why many have worries about it and everyone looking at the other teams.

Still doesn't sound like how you have tried to portray it tbh

Not that it matters at all, I was just commenting on the 5th part really, as I knew Villa were below us, so they must deserve to be below us, the table doesn't lie

If Spurs, rags or Chelsea win Europa/Conference, does that rule cancel out/replace 5th place for CL football?
