Protest v Wolves

Khaldoon and Mansour are ruthless and dictate the club's strategy. Time to remove the scales from our eyes! City is a small part of their strategy in embedding themselves in the world economy.
A very tiny part. Mubudala and the inward investment in the UK, USA, and geopolitical relationships with China, and the rest of South East AsIa are far more important. The sportswashing argument is tempting but bogus imo and I think anyone who has been to the UAE will confirm this. The point that our owners are not benefactors is fair but I don't think we should accept the propaganda from the BBC and Guardianistas either.

I heard from someone who was in the room, that a certain director (who has since defected to United) joked that they LOVED playing football during COVID because they didn't have to worry about fans.

These are the type of people running the club. They are career men, chasing a paycheck or a promotion. They do not care about us fans, nor our club. Just their CV.
That's just capitalism and you should have learned that by age 10. I don't think there are any City fans who think Sheikh Mansour and Khaldoon are some kind of white knight but neither are they the devil incarnate which is what some people in the liberal media would have us believe.

Not talking about sports washing but involvement in City has opened doors to investment within the Manchester economy, particularly property in Ancoats and University. UAE, seeking to diversify investment as oil is finite, just like the hedge funds that run the other top teams. A more pertinent point is that the rulers of Abu Dhabi do not countenance dissent and migrant workers are little more than servants with no rights. They will not understand or sympathise with fans unless we are servile.

Handed out loads of leaflets to City fans outside the ground along with the other lads before the game.

I got 100% support for the protest from the City fans I spoke to.

That leaflet is spot on. Those prices are disgusting.
They are, and there's thousands of empty seats tonight to support that point. If Khaldoon is here tonight he should be dragging Soriano & De Vries into a room and saying "All those empty seats, that's something you're responsible for. Now sort it out or it'll be your seats that are empty."

If only.

Khaldoon and Soriano should be worried. The leaflets were flying out of my hands before the match. And every City fan I spoke to supports the protest. Including a couple of Adults with their kids.

it was noticable on the telly tonight and for a huge game like that it should say more than any protest, its fuckin embarrassing to see all those empty seats when Pep called for the fans to get behind the team tonight for what was probably our most important home game so far in the league in terms of the 3 points

They’ll do the maths and it’s probably more profitable to have a few 1000 empty seats @ £71 than a full house priced @ £40/50 until more people start voting with their feet they won’t care

And no doubt about it. If it’s the same next year Villa mid week five games to go but this time we are going for a title those empty seats will be filled even at £70.

There was thousands of empty seats tonight. I’m sure the club and pep will be bothered about that.

Pep maybe but the money men won’t care they know the seat would have been filled if the title was on the line
Doubt it. Not a chance we are selling out with the expanded north stand as well.

We’ve had plenty of important games this season in the title run in that we are selling out either
