Referees’ Performances | 2024/2025

I thought he was awful today. If that was a penalty then there will be 20 similar ones given this weekend. I can almost guarantee that next time something similar happens they will stick with on field decision
Of course they will it’s City so change the decision we wouldn’t have got that every other team gets that against us ..

Most teams get that decision regardless tbh, if you’re running across on the angle Dias was then he either had to get the ball a lot more or change his run so he didn’t make impact.

It looked a pen in real time to me and just as much so on replay.

The pass was the mistake though (can’t remember who made it).

He got the ball. There was nothing in his way to see the incident in real time. Yes, you’ve seen them given, but there was nothing clear and obvious to send the referee to the monitor.

And yes, I’m biased against Pawson. He’s a dreadful referee - Arsenal at Wembley for instance where he let Merlin be used as a hacky sack by the Tarquins until he had to be subbed off.

another opposition keeper allowed to take the piss against us
In what way? He's allowed to keep the ball at his feet for as long as he likes. It's up to us to challenge him to make him play it.

All other time wasting should have been clamped down on by Pawson.

On 30 minutes, Digne had a ball for a throw in. He discarded the ball, then walked slowly to get another ball from the little ball stand, and slowly back to take the throw. If that isn't blatant time wasting, I don't know what is. Pawson just gormlessly stood there and watched.

Saw 2 villa throws into our box in the first half, both times his foot was fully over the line. I was 100 yards away so fuck knows why that wanker with the flag didn’t see it. Nearly scored off one of them as well.

Pawson didn't see anytbing untoward in it until Uncle VAR informs him he could go to the monitor and in all likelihood give Villa a leg up.

If Pawson 'missed' the kick in Bernardo's head WTF is the lino looking at.

Pawson is dog shit at the best of times but tonight he sank even lower in the septic tank of ref performances. He must be oblivious to half of the penal offences in the LotG.

Probably more for the lino, but how many fucking throw ins did villa take from on the pitch. Absolute disgrace that a top level official either cannot see or doesn't care that a players foot is almost fully over the touchline when taking a throw

He touched the ball, he didn’t get possession of the ball though, it hardly moved and was still in the attackers line. The contact was pretty obvious to me, in real time I was surprised he didn’t give it with Dias running across the line.
