Referees’ Performances | 2024/2025

No media pundits think it was a second yellow...not one.

The Tranmere fan says definately not and that it'll get overturned.

Justice now needs to be seen to be done.

Over to you Webb !!

Apparently, Merson and Dean said it was on Sly, but them and the PiGMOB are in cahoots with the PL anyway so it hardly comes as a surprise.

If Chalobah fouled Lewis, then VAR should have told the ref to review it in order to consider giving a penalty. But that would have been very embarrassing for PiGMOL, as cheating ref had already sent Lewis off, so it was never going to happen.

Needs calling out by the club, as the media will not even mention it. In fact, the club need to ask to hear what the VAR team said during the incident, as I'm sure it would make interesting listening!
Never going to happen, there is no openess in the VAR decision process for obvious reasons.

Yes, ref's make mistakes but what I don't understandand about the situation was why didn't VAR review the incident for a potential penalty. I know they can't look at the issuing of the 2nd yellow but surely that's a foul in the box on Rico.
This was exactly my view.
It could have been an easy fix for var to get the ref to look at the monitor for a possible penalty. The ref would have seen it was a pen, not a second yellow, overturned his decision & given a penalty.
I think it’s inexcusable for var to have done nothing.

Part of me would have liked to have seen him produce a straight red, knowing full well he could have had a look at it. Then reverse the decision and book Chalobah for utter unsporting shithouse acting. The screaming, rolling and waving of arms is the only thing that made that look remotely worthy of even thinking about.

The VAR rules on 2nd yellows for challenges (not allowed to have a look) put the ref in a position he needn't have been in.
I thought it could have been a foul the other way. In which case, VAR could’ve looked at it from a possible penalty perspective.
