Good job us peasants pop over from Yorkshire! The median salary in London is £12k more than in the north west. That equates to 33% more in terms of salary.

But housing is more expensive depending where you live in London or the suburbs. A two bed apartment on the outskirts of London in an OK area (Barnet) is about 1700 pcm, an equivalent area in Greater Manchester is around 1200 pcm.
Based on this someone on median salary should have more disposable income in Greater London, than Greater Manchester.
