We also took around 6000 there back in the 2006 FA Cup game which again had only about 23000 in attendance. That was the one where Micah equalised in the last minute and was a couple of years or so before the takeover so no hangers-on back in those days

Fuck me, I remember I had an absolute bastard of a cold that night and then I got lost in a diversion leaving Villa Park and didn’t get home until stupid o’clock .. happy days!

I never once fell for this '550' tickets. It's that low it actually raises suspicion instead of quell it. Think most wouldn't be too bothered if it was only 550. The number they've provided is that low it probably wouldn't even be worth their time having those agreements in place.

I agree with all you say but also remember that any person/organisation with a matchday membership (or 2, or 3…) can snap up tickets listed on the exchange and resell immediately via the resellers. 10 memberships costs £350 for the year, a tout can make that back reselling 1 ticket for a big game.

I've no doubt this goes on to some extent too, but these must be getting sold elsewhere. More likely to be individual sales as well and I'm sure for the higher profile games the clubs availability for tickets that come back through the exchange and listed on their own site is minimal.

Read Ghosts post. Two different individuals listed their tickets separately on the exchange that are sat beside one another. I.e not at the same time. Both tickets then sold as a pair on StubHub and this has happened numerous times. Even if a tout was able to buy them, they're continually very lucky and unbelievably unlikely at being able to claim those very same seats each time. They then couldn't list them on StubHub anyway.

It's cases like Ghosts mentioned that the club should be getting grilled on.

For a game on TV. Surely it's not beyond these people to understand that games on Sky at 8pm are going to be less attractive to parents with young kids, and (1) price matchday tickets accordingly, even if it's just reducing the U18s ticket price, as well as (2) making a gesture to S/T holders, such as a £10 voucher for the shop each time a game's on the box. Financially this wouldn't be too big a hit, as clubs get around £1m per televised match (I think).

An independent regulator should have a role in setting football ticket prices because top-flight matches are often too expensive for working class supporters to attend, an MP has claimed.

Byrne, who was speaking during a House of Commons debate of the second reading of the Football Governance Bill, added: "We need to tackle the issue of the pricing out of working class supporters."

Byrne told MPs he was concerned that some top-flight clubs were reducing the number of season tickets available.

An FSA spokesman said this was a covert way for clubs to charge premium prices for the biggest games.

If they're likely joined by Sheff Utd - that's a 3rd US owned club coming up. With only Ipswich of the 3 relegated clubs being US owned, a net gain of 2 US owned clubs, making a grand total of 12 out of 20 next season in the Premier League.

Looking further down the pyramid, surprisingly 7 League One clubs have US ownership. With Birmingham & Wrexham on their way to the Championship, that's more US owned clubs piling up to join the Premier League elite.

The magic number of 14 not so far away, after which it's curtains for the game we love.

Tickets selling on here, Facebook and X for about £25, even £20. That's the market price/value of what city are selling for £63. Idiots. When an event is really popular, a £63 ticket sells for £100 on the secondary market.
City think they are selling hot tickets, they're not. It's just a game of football, at 8pm on a Friday, live on TV, and just one of almost 30 home games. A parent should be able to go with a child for £50.
