The distance and cost involved getting from Manchester to London;

Expensive tickets;

A legacy fanbase that’s suffered a lot of issues with the club - no new season tickets, appalling Matchday pricing, a shit show on ticket sales for big games like the Madrid semi final, encouraging day trippers, selling scarce away tickets to non City fans;

The tedious nature of visits to the same shit neutral venue every year - I can actually say that the final against Stoke was a slight anti climax as we’d played the semi there and beaten the rags in the semi - multiply that familiarity factor by 30

A good number who are banned for pitch invasions and other trivial matters

The ridiculous timing making it particularly shit for young kids, people wanting to travel by train, kids about to do GCSE’s and a levels

Etc



I will be going as ever with my 2 lads, but tbh I can afford it and football is my top priority outside my family. To say that people who aren’t going are doing so because they are arrogant is fucking shocking and frankly arrogant

I’ll add another one to the list. The constant antagonism towards our club from Sky, BT/TNT, ITV, BBC, the written media and quite a lot of overseas media hasn’t exactly helped grow our fan base

Not being funny but often people who don’t travel away/go regularly, and therefore don’t understand the difficulties or rationale for missing games, are the ones who criticise fans for not attending.

So I’m curious how long have you been a season ticket holder and regular away match goer?

Arguably the main reason why our uk fan base has not expanded to the levels it probably should have done. Overseas it’s grown at a staggering rate it has to be said.

The constant bile , cheats, 115, oil money etc doesn’t help.
