My YouTube channel - Episode 48 (P26)

Episode 17

That's not a pond it's a lake surely? Mind you they do say everything is bigger in America.

For a private individual to undertake moving a structure as large as that must have been very expensive and difficult.

Looking at the planks on the bridge and the gaps in it we're going to have to start calling you dangerous screamer from now on,the sign that was very faint is the advertisement for the publication the American Agriculturist.

Congratulations to you and the channel for being the first to video this bridge and upload it for posterity mate.

That’s a puddle in Idaho :)

That's what you meant by it's hard to spot from the road? I can see why.
Someone sent me that picture an hour or so ago and I so wished I was given it before the video went out! It would have been brilliant to put it in it

I also found the advert for the first one I focused on.
Kicking myself I didn’t check these out beforehand too!

Get that video posted mate you're slipping :)

That road leading up to the bridge is reminiscent of how James Caan met his nemesis in the film Misery, glad to see that a few squiddly spent on patches made your foray into cliff diving a dry one.
Did the patch last the day though, having ventured into a further 4 watercourses the same day? Stay tuned over the next few weeks to find out!
Next weeks bridge has moved home twice!

Great to see in this weeks episode you have your waders on ready for a rumble with the water, it's a sign that things are looking up weather-wise and that you can even consider taking your luncheon meat butties with you and actually eat outside in the sun.

Question? Black River is that named after a tribe and Sherman is that named after a general?

Imagine the ignominy of a structure like that being used as a shed?

New York will be pleased you've cut them some slack because they support the preservation of all covered bridges.

From Wiki
The Black River is so named because the color of its water is a dark, almost black, hue. This color is caused by the presence of tannins, which are compounds leached from decaying plant matter in the surrounding swamps and forests. As trees and other vegetation decompose, they release tannins that stain the water a dark brown or black color, making it appear black.

It’s funny that the next major river (going north) to join the Connecticut River is the White River!

Yeah filming at 6 bridges in the same day meant it’s easier to just keep the waders on.
I’m doing a two day session first weekend in May, staying over in a cheap Bates Motel type place and will film at 14 bridges over the two days which will take me to 42 bridges

I'm still amazed at the logistics of moving a structure that size twice, and then turning it into a storage shed. Some of those old pictures of the bridges are incredible, shows what a lifeline they were for some of these remote villages.

Episode 21 I features a bridge that went for a swim in one piece and I have fantastic footage of it being brought back and placed back onto its abutments. A local videographer filmed it and has kindly given me the footage to use.

I'm sure I have seen you do a bridge with the what I like to call the land rover leaf spring suspension system in play, this one looks as sturdy as fuck (Real technical term I know).

That area didn't need a bridge it would have been lots more fun having a Dukes Of Hazzard type ramp for all of those American Mustangs to scoot over and they could have lost the weight limit although it might have got a bit messy for a Horse and cart.

Good backstory about the girls decorating the bridge, gives the bridge that firm local connection, another cracking video mate.

There was one bridge that had a laminated beam running through each side but it wasn’t an arch (episode 10)

Going on a binge filming session this week….. the step grandson who lives with me and the wife (aged 6) has caught covid so I can’t go to work for minimum 5 days, so disappearing each day to do minimum 7 bridges per day for at least 3 of those 5 days!

Hope the little fella gets well soon mate.
