The Anti Supporters Club

Well the other groups don’t ask for tickets or players to turn up to events. The club has no physical hold over the other groups. They don’t have any bargaining power to bring the other groups under their control.
That's not really true. The club arguably have plenty of physical hold over 1894. After all, we need their permission to do displays, we store our flags and banners at the stadium, and we ask them to reserve seats for singing sections at home games and at Wembley.

None of the above stops us pushing back on issues like the ticketing ones we currently have. However, what must be stressed is that we don't have an issue with the club as a whole. There are many decent people who work there that we're in touch with and the relationship with those people helps make doing displays pretty much hassle-free and also allows us to organise the singing sections.

Like you, we don't expect the OSC to be as militant as the other groups but it would be nice if they were a bit more solid in their support for the various fan groups. If they were, I don't believe for one minute that the club would remove any privileges they get with regards to tickets and player visits. After all, Chris Bird hasn't worked there for donkey's years and if the club did go down that route then pretty much the whole fanbase would turn against them. The club aren't that stupid. This is more a case of a few individuals being tone deaf on certain issues that affect fans and us highlighting those issues to try and get them to listen.

More of a suggestion than a question but did you share the letter with the OSC prior to publishing?

If there is a bit of history with some people/groups not going along with the majority, it may be wise in future to give them a heads up and explain the reasoning in advance so when it is released, they are more on board with it.

Might not make the slightest difference of course but I don't see how it would do any harm other than a few minutes to send an email

Who do these pretenders think they govern?

Kevin Parker, an ongoing danger to the match going fan. Get your head out the trough.

The same guy who turned his back on the club and left at 2-1 against QPR. I'm sure he'd deny it now but i remeber hsi interview on NWT the day after like it was yesterday.

I'm always getting email from the suporters club and it is very much Kevin said this and Kevin said do that.

It’s very easy to have a go at the guy at the top. As someone who works every single day for my own branches members, and doing it out of love for the club… I speak for our branch when I say nothing but thank you to Kevin for the endless hours over a season he dedicates to the club.
I don’t think anyone questions how much work KP puts in and how dedicated he is to the club and supporters clubs.

But maybe someone that has a personal relationship with him should have a word about reading the room over these protests.

You speak for yourself unless you have canvased your members.
Have you ,before you made this statement ?

Kevin, as the OSC representative on City Matters, is actively working with that group on the issues of season tickets, the Flexi-Gold pricing structure and ticket prices generally.

He quite reasonably expressed his disappointment that the other groups published a statement that they didn't have the sense or courtesy to share with City Matters. Perhaps it's those other groups who should read the room.

Get real will you , most of the City Matters committee had to resign to bring the issue to the fore , no thanks to Kevin and his cronies who don’t have the backbone to stand up to the club .

Kevin is a legend

Why didn't Kevin Parker consult the OSC members before deciding not to support the fans first protest? He obviously didn't read the room.

Who took that decision? And why did they take that decision? What were their reasons? And why didn't Kevin Parker as the OSC General Secretary canvas the wider OSC membership before taking that decision?

There is an OSC - X page. A poll/vote could have been set up allowing OSC members to vote for or against supporting the first protest.

It works both ways.

Col maybe you should just come out of the citymatters WhatsApp group mate hanging off gossip and let the existing elected members just get on with it, it is like an trying to pretend you are still with an ex lover when it's over.

Do you plan to stay in for the next few years as well ?

Osc and other groups are absolutely fine kev is sending out the current 1894 fundraiser for Wembley to all the branches.

We have fed into the chair of citymatters non stop for 2 years including mails calls texts and what'sapp messages prior to this campaign.

He then will filter down to all the members who represent different groups.

If you are struggling to understand any further ask your "friends" in the WhatsApp group you are still in they will tell you at some point.

Col we do like you personally obviously we disagree but there's no clash with the osc they can say whatever they like it's free speech it"s a free world.

Whether their comments are the views of one man or two if you include Alan galley - or if they are the views of 34k members we can't say but we suspect it's not the second one.

They have their reasons and motivations for tweeting whatever they want to do and we have our reasons and motivations for tweeting what we do.

99% of City fans back our stance judging by the reaction to the osc posts on twitter, we've got a mandate and it is easy for them to get one too should they wish, just mail the membership.

If we were to slag off the osc or citymatters publicly we'd never hear the end of it! Most of our members are also members of the osc we don't see any them and us.

As I said yesterday, the OSC never has or never will rock the boat. That’s not their remit.
The OSC backed Swales 100% without asking for members opinions - and then backed Frannie Lee as soon as he took over.
They are there to support the club and in return get privileges for doing so.

I understand that.

Polling the OSC membership isn't rocking the boat.

The OSC membership will either back the protest or they won't back the protest in a vote.

Any half decently run organisation will always consult their membership first before making an important decision on their behalf.

The 2nd protest on Friday, which could be bigger, has been ignored by the OSC, unless I've missed a statement from them about it?

OSC belongs to City.

The other groups belong to fans.

That's a conflict of interest and one that should see all communication clearer and with more urgency.

Wembley's empty seats are a result of increasingly unsustainable conditions for fanatics to be fans. I'm all for whatever it takes to make the club listen. There are pros and cons galore to the OSC and the independents. Our community shouldn't be fragmented by discussion, debate, or personal vendetta.

We shouldn't have multiple supporters organisations.
It never works, causes division and leaves the club alone.
The fact it's called the OSC is crazy and only because for about 25 years we had two supporters clubs one official and one independent. Eventually common sense prevailed and they merged.
Now we have fans creating other supporter action groups when it would be better if these progressive action groups were part of the OSC.
If KP is not the right man then vote him out and put another leader in.
