Assuming our goal difference is favourable, which it almost certainly will be to Villa and Forest - 69 points (so 2 wins - 2 draws), seals it. And it can literally only go down from there, any points dropped this weekend is likely to reduce that requirement because of the combination of matches remaining.

So much for the people on here last week adamant we would need 70+ points. That fell apart predictably quickly.

It’s human nature to think your rivals will do better than they usually do.
 
9 points guarantees us with forest/Chelsea to play each other last day. I suspect 6 will be enough
 
I remain convinced that 67 points will be enough given the remaining fixtures for those in contention. This is partly because our GD will certainly keep us above Villa and Forest if they manage to amass 67 points.

I think we'll get more, and I think we'll finish third.

There are many different situations that would result in different outcomes, especially with a few of them playing each other around us.

The maximum one of Chelsea or Forest can get is 72 points.

They can’t both get that as they play each other, they can both get 70 points if they both win their other games and draw with each other. If that happens it means Chelsea beat Newcastle away though which drags them back down to a maximum of 71.

But you can do it different ways and it come to different points.

A win tomorrow not only solidifies our place in the Top 4, but puts a helluva lot of pressure on the others too.

We've been here before so I can't see us slipping up now.

Chelsea and Forest can both get to 72 with 4 wins.. yes Newcastle plays Chelsea so 1 of them will drop points.. but we need 73 to be sure!

I hope Chelsea and Newcastle draw.. Forest loses one more and then we only need 9 to be sure! But mathematically we need 12 more to be sure.
 
beat Wolves and sit back an enjoy the others suck ass and drop points.
Brighton-Barcodes and Chelsea-Liverpool both can end well for us...
Palace-Forest too on Monday.
Villa probably have enough to beat Fulham but thats ok they could put pressure on others from below with that.

Think 67/68 will do it, win on Friday and by Mo day will be much clearer. Then chase Arsenal

No we don't, 70 points is 100% top 5 now due to Forest's really inferior goal difference. That scenario only happens if Chelsea draws against Forest and wins against Newcastle and the rest get full points.

i agree, i think we have over estimated points with some clubs,67 plus goal average will most likely see it done

Don't think that's true. We need 70 points currently to mathematically get top 5 assuming Forest/Chelsea win all their games until the final day and draw. That fixture means we have atleast a 2 point advantage over either/both of them.

There are internationals when the season ends and then the CWC. They won't be going anywhere!

6 more points to be sure. Beat Wolves, beat Southampton and it's job done in my opinion. Some on here think they're going for the title. The others around us aren't winning all of their games or they'd be above us already. Just need to keep the good run going, win three more games to make CL and win the FA Cup and then give De Bruyne a send off in the final two.
