Protest v Wolves

Seems sensible to me. Get a flexi gold, show you're committed to attending and then move onto a regular ST if you wish.

As I said before, I think flexi golds (with the new terms) will suit more people than a regular ST.
You’re committed? You’re bribed, more like. People will attend and commit if they are given the chance to buy a regular season ticket, which they are desperate for. Don’t forget, people now have to attend a minimum of 10 games or they lose their new season ticket, and a maximum of 16 games. 16 games is on they way to commitment.

Why are the directors refunding money? why are the directors pissing about with pro-rata? Wray are the directors making it even more complicated to get a season ticket, and to get the Flexi-Gold scam money back? Just give people the opportunity to buy @ season ticket, or a Flexi-Gold season tickets without the scam charge, or having to refund the scam charge. One step forward, two steps back.
Because it's a show of commitment to actually attending matches. Go to all 19 and it's no different to a regular ST. 12+ games (at a guess) and it's probably no more expensive than a regular ST, possibly even cheaper. 16+ and you can qualify for a regular ST. Sounds good to me.

I'd say it's 2 steps forward. Still more to go (particularly regarding match day tickets) but that's the way of negotiations.

A show of commitment? Give it a rest! Is this a new prerequisite to getting a season ticket, and becoming a season ticket holder? You have to show commitment to be allowed to buy a season ticket, and to keep a season ticket? You’ve been well and truly hoodwinked and taken in by the directors. In that case, the vast majority of the remaining season ticket holders, who are dwindling, have shown decades of commitment, yet the club is still getting rid of us. Keep spinning on the directors behalf. You’re doing a fantastic job for them. That’s what I call COMMITMENT!

Absolutely.

Since when have we become THAT subservient to the wishes of what is a business running a business on OUR behalf?

They've removed the FlexiGold fee, guaranteed new season tickets, and made the pathway clear: attend 16 games next season at the season ticket price and you get a proper seasoncard in the new stand. Around 50% of the new Seasoncards (estimated 4,000) are ringfenced for juniors too, which is huge, possibly even too much.
If you can’t make 16 games, let a friend use your ticket. It’s not hard. This is a good middle ground; they were never going to scrap the FlexiGold concept entirely. They want fans who are going to attend regularly, simple as that.

Of course, exceptions should be made for illness, disability, or pregnancy. But if you can't make the majority of games, why are you buying a season ticket, just for the discount?

1894 need to move on from the season ticket debate and focus on the two main issues that will make or break our ground and atmosphere :

- Creating an atmospheric new stand, our only and final opportunity to create 2 vocal ends and turn our ground into the proper atmosphere we all want.
- Matchday pricing so we never have a situation like Villa again where there is 4000 empty seats in a must win game.

If anyone decides not to bother with the protest because the club have thrown a few scraps tonight to try and dial down the temperature, you’ve been gaslit.

There will be plenty of empty seats at the game anyway. Football on a Friday night should never happen, most people are going on a night out after a week at work. They will go to the pub and take in the game there.

Season ticket and match prize freezes the bare minimum, many issues remain unresolved.

Having spoken to members of Citymatters and with their meeting with the club on 1st May (day before Wolves) in mind we announce the following action :

villa - peaceful demo outside colin bell stand 7pm, leaflets to fans and reps from all groups on hand to discuss with fans and take feedback
(also at this game alex and brian from citymatters reps will be taking your views on this in the club shop from 6.15/6.30)

wolves - 6 min concourse protest to highlight 6 years without any new full season cards being released should the club not announce any new ones. if you take your seat as normal we ask you to remain silent.

both protests can be rescinded in the event of good news from the club, right up until kick off time on 2nd may.
I read the club statement as a commitment to release >4,000 new seasoncards in 2026/27.

If the protest is "on", new demands should be made. Prices would be the obvious target. I think Crystal Palace fans and City fans should have joint banners about the FA Cup Final ticket prices and PL prices rather than the usual club banners. It is difficult to believe that fans nowadays pay £70 plus for tickets. This is unsustainable. I think it will be regulated soon, just as away ticket prices are regulated.

That club statement addresses none of the key issues in play here - Matchday prices, the ridiculous expanded rules on Seasoncard attendance, no new proper season tickets.

It's tone deaf and completely out of touch. The club seem to have little or no empathy for the match going fanbase.

It's created an us and them divide that is growing wider season by season. Their fucking hashtag for years has been #Together but that hasn't included the fans. The Istanbul debacle proved if there was any doubt the club didn't give two fucks about the bread and butter match going fans. We're on our own, either pay the asking price and abide by the ever increasing rules and restrictions or fuck off. That's it in a nutshell.

It's about seasoncards. You missed this paragraph...

It was always the Club’s intention to release new Season Tickets as part of the expansion of the North Stand. Whilst the seating configuration of the stand is yet to be finalised, we can confirm that it will be predominantly GA seating and that the majority of the additional GA seating capacity will be held by Season Ticket Members, through the release of new Season Tickets.

Translation: It was always the Club's intention to release new Season Tickets as part of the expansion of the North Stand since the owner told us to stop fucking about and sort out these problems with the fanbase.

:)
