Reform 2025 Limited new name same business

It’s a mayoral election not a council one where the mayor has significantly more powers than a council leader.

So they have control of a council and rely on money from central govt as well as local govt. Yeah that's nothing like what was being discussed. Kinell play the post fella.

This place.

You clearly couldn't be bothered to have read the posts then.

The 3 party system is probably dead for now if last night is anything to go by. The electorate need to prepare for years of political upheval and no doubt a raft of coalition governments. Farage is already talking about DOGE for the UK. I have no issues with holding all government and council spending to account but we'd better start thinking what services we are prepard to do without. Time will tell and how Reform run the Staffordshire and Lincolnshire councils will be interesting to watch.

And none of the highlighted bit even touched on what I said, btw it's been pretty much a 2 party system for a long time now.

Badenoch, Truss, Johnson and Corbyn - take a bow....Farage and his racist mob are your creatures.
Lol. You left out Starmer and Cameron. They ushered in farage with their cynical approach to politics and under them he has achieved his greatest success.
Johnson and Corbyn actually pulled the rug from under him in some respects.

Impossible for the left to take hold if Starmer keeps going to the right.

Impossible for Labour to got into power if he didn’t go more right but I’d say protecting the NHS for further strikes, same for Train drivers, increasing minimum wage, reforming workers, renters rights bill and much more can be considered left leaning policies- not that they’d ever be recognised by anyone.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Farage went into the next election saying he was only going raise a couple of minor taxes, something like non-doms that won’t impact ordinary people, and that he wouldn’t mess about with the fiscal rules.

And then when he gets in power, he’d do a load of shit that wasn’t in his manifesto - taking money off pensioners or some other crass move - before fiddling the rules so that they could throw money at vanity projects.

And then when he drops a bollock and borrows too much money he’ll probably end up having to take it off the disabled- something really low rent. But by that stage the economy would be in the shit and borrowing will go through the roof anyway, with everyone having to pay for it when he finally fires his useless Chancellor. And all this after saying that they wouldn’t do anything daft.

Don’t you just hate con artists?
Clever that - probably go over a few heads

Labour just about kept Doncaster which is normally a safe seat so people are now getting fucked off with how things are . I’m not racist as my father was Hungarian and came over in 56 during the uprising along with a lot others who came here to work get mortgages etc but he also didn’t come here and shit on the pavement which a Roma gypsy did the other day in a place called Hexthorpe which as been over ran by them to the point where houses have been devalued by at least 30 percent and British people are scared to walk out af night for fear of being attacked . Are we all happy with what’s happening to our great little country which is being destroyed inch by inch and willl carry on untill it’s unrecognisable I mean I’m 54 and on the other side of my life but I fear for my grand daughter if we can’t get this under control with people coming into the country on mass .
Did you see this Romanian person shit on the pavement?

What Farage will do is promise to spend more and tax less. In other words, he will satisfy the fantasies of both left and right, with a particular attraction to socially conservative left-wingers. Of course, such economic illiteracy cannot be delivered - but most people don't give a fuck about reality. They just want someone who (apparently) agrees with their fantasies and obsessions.

The two main parties have sold their souls and eaten themselves over the last couple of decades. I suspect it is to do with the media ground shifting so quickly beneath their feet due to the growth of the internet and social media.
The Tories have turned into a weird combination of a seemingly diverse cabinet with high bame representation delivering policy that would please Enoch Powell and norman tebbit. Labour have indulged a slightly peculiar witch hunt against the left and socialism in their efforts to be all things to all men and hoodwink the public.
Lib dems deserve a century in the wilderness after their stint in coalition with the Tories, And the greens will be a fringe protest vote until they admit nuclear has to be at the core of a green energy solution.
Hopefully this will be the kick up the arse they all need, but maybe their heads are too far up their arses for the kick to register :-(
Agree with every word of this. I wonder if it's time for the labour left to split. Green unfortunately have no hope of doing what reform are doing IMO. But a socialist labour/ green party could potentially take advantage of the disaffection people have with the two main parties.

I don't agree with your views of the left wing fantasies in this regard. I would say a true left wing politician in the current climate would tax more(the wealthy) borrow more and spend more, this extra money would be spent on what they perceive as the most valuable public services and most vulnerable people.

Whether right or wrong this is nothing like what Farage would do if he got into power, which he won't.

Its over to Starmer to react to this for the betterment of the country.

Good luck everyone.

All roads lead to PR and probably a coalition system of government - but of course Cameron kicked that into touch with one of his shitty referenda. While in power due to being in coalition. Ycnmiu.

Andrea Jenkyns:
"inch-by-inch Reform will reset Britain to its glorious past"

I wonder what era she’s aiming for and what era do the voters want?
Delusional claptrap.

Probably the most high profile moment in her political career, and she uses to talk about putting refugees in tents.

Obviously the era where we treated the rest of the World like shit.

Who would split? Post Corbyn, you could look at some of the players involved, and they've already split into a variety of unsuccessful factions. There can't be more than a handful of Labour MPs that haven't been given dogs abuse online by the cheerleaders for a new left wing Labour party, so which of them would take the risk?

The Green Party are where the majority of the disaffected Labour left votes already go, and they've shown it takes decades to make even tiny strides.

The wealthiest are fleeing the country over fear of any slight more tax which is already costing us billions.

They can flee if they wish, I'm sure scandavian countries have rich folk who don't appear to have legged it over the decades. I think a tax overall is long overdue, like a change to our voting system, to our health service, to our public transport.......... list is endless really:-)

Probably best to vote Labour or Tory though in a fptp system where they fiddle around the edges because people are scared to death of a 2% increase in income tax but meekly accept

Tax bands not increasing(increase in tax in real terms people)
Council tax up
Food up
Heating up
Some benefits cut/harder to claim
Etc etc

Don't dare make me pay more income tax or stop me fiddling my cash in hand though.
