Makes you think, doesn't it. You could focus solely on winning the FA CUP and Europa, and still get into the CL, and phone it in for the rest of the season in the PL. Just doing enough not to get relegated.

Whilst also being a complete laughing stock and ending up with, as it stands, £21m in total merit for finishing 14th, less if they continue to be said laughing stock.

I’d rather be up in the top places, making serious money and in contention for a cup win and CL based on league merit.

Cannot get my head around Bilbao's tactics. They came out with the intention of rough-housing at every opportunity. They are better than that footballing wise. Their position in La Liga demonstrates that. They can hold their own in that league, but for some reason they decided to abandon the things that they are good at, and adopt championship levels of tripping, pulling, cleaning out Garnashers 3 or 4 times in the first 20 mins.

Maybe they were too fired up, and the occasion got to them, but these guys play in the bernabeu, Nou camp and Metropolitano. They should be better than what they showed last night. Even before the penalty, the ball had been in their net twice. And the foul on Poundlund was a jittery defence, not coping with the pressure.

First time I've watched them this season and thought they were utter shite and turned it over after 25mins
 
If it's Rags v spuds final, think on this...... with 4 league games each left, and between them they lose 4 of them, then between them they'd have lost 38 league games - A FULL PREMIER SEASON OF DEFEATS! ..... and one of them is in C/L next season..... YCNMIU !!
 
Can't imagine there'll be many watching tonight.

I think Spurs have a better chance of beating them in the final, they seem to have United's number, so probably just hoping they make it through.

United haven't beaten them since 2022, 4 losses and 2 draws in that times, including the 3 straight losses you mention, 2 of those were Amorim as well.

Spurs in a final you'd never fancy but got to think they're the best chance of stopping it.
 
Don't forget, Rags opponents tonight are made up of of free transfers.
It's harder not to win this and Chelseas tournament than get knocked out for any PL team especially with no CLteams dropping into it. Wenger was right for once where the winners of this should not get a CL place

Simply demonstrates what a poorly conceived and utterly undeserved and pathetic reward that a CL place for any club winning this pathetic competition really is.

The standard and integrity of football really doesn't matter to the cunts at UEFA, intent on making the most money possible.
