The Anti Supporters Club

Yes, 1894 put out a survey for their members, of which hundreds voted in favour of an open letter to Pep (amongst other options)

Thank you for that, glad to know.

Tyranny of the bloody majority, innit!

(That last one is a joke, just trying to lighten the mood ok!)

City Matters have negotiated these improvements mate. KP had teed up this agreement behind the scenes for all fans. Credit to to all the City Matters negotiators.

Credit to all the fans reps and protesters too.
Exactly. CM are the body who sit down with the club, and I'm certain that their input has been critical. I'm also sure that the protests have helped concentrate minds at the club. Both have undoubtedly played a part in winning these concessions.

I'd also hazard a guess that the problems the club have had in selling tickets has also helped them think more clearly.

We will have to agree to disagree.
But he didn't.
The upper echelons of the club have spoken and their servants have took it on board.
I will leave it there.

Agree that it's been a combined effort that has gotten us to this stage

I thought my conclusions in the thread were fairly clear. This is pretty much (as you confirm) not about "city fans" but about one very small (but obviously important)subset , namely the season ticket holders.
Also, that these actions care not about anyone or anything else. Quite the opposite.
It's also true that the actions by the season ticket groups are as clear as mud. Perhaps deliberately so for obvious reasons.

It took a fair bit of wrangling and effort to get this cleared up for me as one can see. I now know that as a remote supporter, this has next to fuck all to do with my interests.

I just wanted clarification. I got it.
Just out of curiousity, what are your interests as a remote supporter?

What concessions?

They literally said "we were going to do this anyway"

I know I have been a negative nancy over the letter itself. That's my view and my taste, whatever. But as I have said previously on the original protests thread, credit for the effort and determination in that, particularly in the short tome to organise etc. I do mean that.

Well they've certainly made valuable concessions on Flexi-gold. Having completely fucked it up, it's now much closer to what it should have been.
I'm not even sure they're concessions rather than really extremely obvious things that anybody with a brain would do. This isn't "a win" for fans nor "a loss" to City. What exactly are City giving up in this concession?

The goals are stated:

Greater percentage of season ticket to capacity.
Cheaper ticket prices

Which of these have changed?

Good question.

1) Access to all the matches. Sounds simple but it's not. I would love a Club TV channel which I could subscribe to. Alas I can't

2) reasonable access to tickets for one off visitors. I know the local fans would have the stadium 100%ST, but I do think a reserved avenue for visitors should be kept open.

3) That the club and fans behave far better in club matters and not resort to war in the stands. It looks fucking awful and only serves as manor for the red top brigade on a Monday morning.

4) That fan groups are honest, open and clear about what they want and for whom. I'm more than a little offended that they seem to think that the match going season ticket holders are the only fans to be concerned about.

5) That the club displays the same professionalism and skill off the pitch as it does on the pitch.

6) Better remote experience and engagement. The app is a bit clunky and doesn't do much. The online shop is a bit crap. etc.

Point 3 is my main one though

Then start your own fan group for non-local fans. I'd be interested to see what your protests would be.

I joined the OSC for one reason only and that's to get transport to away games.

I've got 28,000 points so aside from the PL game at Luton last season I always qualify for a ticket

It's nearly always the same people on every coach journey and in contrast to the mythology I've never once encountered a member getting an undeserved ticket that should have been sold to somebody with higher points.

I'm not a member of 1894 but that's not a criticism of their aims or methods.
I know they do a great jobs with the flags and tributes, but rightly or wrongly I've always viewed them as an independent body that's more focused on the atmosphere for home matches.

Similarly City Matters have seemingly surfaced from nowhere but I literally haven't the faintest idea if the latest developments regarding Season Tickets were due to their lobbying influence or whether it was just a cynical ploy to dilute the impact of tonight's protest.

Either way, let's stop blaming each other and focus on the real enemy: corporate greed.
The real enemy: that lot.

Re point 3, what are we talking about, 2 protests in the last few weeks, over a period if maube 8 or 9 years?

May be misremembering but we haven't had that many.

Utd have had loads over that time, as have arsenal, and a few other clubs, imo we are doing better than most.

Thanks for your informative reply.

1. I'd like access to all the away games legally on TV. I go to home games.

2. I don't think local fans want the ground 100% S/T. Genuine City fans who can only make it to a game now and then are always welcome as far as I'm concerned.

3. The club doesn't listen to the fans like it used to. That's why I'll be protesting tonight. My main beef is with the price of tickets for kids. They'll be the ones to fill my place when I'm not around any longer.

4. I'm not keen on all these separate groups tbh. Don't see why we have a group called Trades Union Blues. Keep politics out of it! Disagree with you on the S/T though.

5. Agreed.

6. Can't really comment on this other than I think the ticket purchasing on the official site could be a bit better. It always seems a bit clunky to me.

Yet today we and City Matters saved the future of our fanbase. Chapeau Sir Kevin.
All I will say is Khaldoon,Wembley, not happy, sort it.
Let's hope KP has boxed of the final ticket allocation better than the semi final ticket debacle that he presided over.
Let's hope he's available to help this time?

I think you seem to be missing that a lot of this on season tickets revolves around or is at least triggered by the 8000 new seats coming in the north stand extension. Or rather the club's so far lack of public direction over their intentions. So the timing is actually pretty damn logical, and then the other long standing issues are coming to the fore along with that.
@Coatigan I know you'll be able to answer this as you have a good grasp of the planning docs. How many seats comprise the general admissions section?
In the club statement re STs, "majority" is a bit vague for my liking. 51% is a majority. Why not 75%, or more? I'd like to know a specific number of STs they are proposing get released.

The whole new tier, will be 9518 seats. Of that circa 8000 ish are additional new seats, the rest are existing being absorbed into the tier. Excluding Tier 1 below which is unchanged.

That includes 456 skybar seats and 120 hospitality seats outside the hotel rooms looking onto the pitch. They are 'true hospitality', if you would. Thenrest id all general admission, that's 8942 GA seats. Including 648 GA+ seats at the bottom of the tier, which are hospitality-lite type seats, but could also well be season tickets as well just a higer offering.

However, of that, I have absolutely no idea whatsoever what portion will be season tickets and what not. Some have mentioned it will all be flexi-gold. The club haven't said anything publicly, but even at 51% as you note if 'majority' is a true allocation, that's still around 4.4k potential season tickets to allocate, once you exclude the hospitality.
