I've made the decision not to go to this.

The reason 4:30 has been chosen is that ITV have worked out that people who watch a game that kicks off at 3pm tend to do something else after the game finishes and fewer people watch the more valuable (for advertising revenue) evening programmes.

With a 4:30 kick-off more people tend to stay tuned in, meaning higher advertising revenue. The convenience of football fans takes second place to ITV 's advertising revenue. I'm getting more and more fucked off with football.
If only those 100 or so households they survey to calculate TV ratings fucking lied about what they watched!

Absolute fucking nuts this decision.

I've not watched a fucking TV advert for about 20 years.

Fucking Dinosaurs the TV companies, traditional tv is going the same way as Video, record sales, newspapers and magazines.

The FA can fuck right off in pandering to these "tv lovey" cunts!

Always makes me laugh when the press harp on about the last train. Shows how the London-centric press think trains are the main option, as they are in the metropolis.
A train with capacity of what? Say 5-700, but no thought for the other 30,000+ that will probably face roadworks closing the M6 and diverting around the lanes of Staffordshire and Cheshire
The press and all the blue moon luddites

I'd be surprised if more than 3,000 travelled by train yet all we get on here is folk moaning about getting back to Piccadilly.

Tbf to the rail brigade though one motorist on here was actually bemoaning the fact that he wouldn't arrive back in Manchester til 11pm. On a Saturday night. Jeez, live a little.

The fucking state of this thread. Absolutely embarrassing. Too many just can’t be arsed; want chauffeuring to their seats, want it all to match their own agenda. It’s the FA cup final. On a Saturday. At 4:30pm. Loads of travel options- car, coach, train.
But they’d rather wallow in self-pity and make out it’s akin to being sent to the front line without a rifle at Passchendale.
You don’t deserve this success.
Good lad...well siad..I am down for the weekend...these days and times are precious....enjoy every fucking second!

Bollocks mate, no disrespect.

Drive to Brum or Stourbridge, Chiltern trains to London £50.

Match tickets top tier £80

Take some food and buy a bit for a treat.

Less than £200 for an unforgettable experience for you both

Can also do Manchester to Crewe change at Crewe for London North Western Service crewe to euston off peak travel card return tube travel included for £60 each for 2 adults
Trains after the game are either 746 or 846 to Crewe back in Manchester for 11/12 depending on if you get 746 or 846

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding so is it the case that regardless of selling criteria set by the club if you are in a osc and have nothing more than a membership you can get a ticket for the final? Surely I haven't understood that correctly?
That’s exactly how it is.

Hate to be pedantic but it’s about 5k households and 11.5k people.

I set off 09.30am from whitefield.
Always use M6-M41-M40 park 15 mins slow walk from stadium. And have a decent break at services. Arrived a hour before 4.30pm kick-off
I might leave Prestwich at 9 as I have to go via Ashton to pick up one of our mob.
I usually park west of the ground but might try somewhere on the east as that's the end we've got.

Do ITV still have this thinking process? I could understand it in the days of 2, 3, 4 or even 5 channels, but most people have upwards of 50 channels these days (plus catch up etc) and don't even have to walk to the TV to change channels as we did in the old days.

It has West on the ticket information on the app.

Most will do it but you are missing the point.

The date was planned last year.
All other games have been moved from the Saturday.

There was no reason to not announce the ko time or for it to not be the traditional 1500.

Announcing the ko time 2 weeks before the game and, based on who made the final and, considering what else is on television on the day is just fucking crass!
