Morgan Gibbs-White

It looks like this signing is probably on, so maybe its time for some posters to get behind it and give a bit of support rather than moan about it.

Seems as well that the club are committing possibly £80m to the transfer as well so its not like they are looking at a squad filler. Could be £200m on Wirtz and MGW alone!

Just don’t see it with this lad,not my money but it’ll be close to the grealish fee or not a kick in the arse off it,hope I’m proved wrong but seems a signing that’s all about top 4-5 not title material..

Thing is he`s been proper scouted so maybe he`s just ready to take the next step and Pep is the guy to unleash something even further?

I think most posters will get excited about potential signings they like and moan about potential signings they dislike. As it should be on a forum discussing transfers. We are City fans, not cult members getting behind every decision the club makes whatever that decision may be.

But if MGW joins everyone would obviously want him to do well.

If the plan is Wirtz and MGW….I can can get the clubs logic. Essentially pairing a budding star with a tenacious high work rate type player….We need pieces that compliment each other.

If we get MGW on top of the likes of Wirtz (yes, I know they are 2 completely different players), then I am content with this signing. However, my fear is that we will spend 75-80m quid on him, and he will be our "big" signing of the summer. When is the last time we spent 80+ million on two different players in one summer? A lot of people say he will be a great addition and Wirtz will replace Kev, but can you genuinely envision us spending 75-80m on MGW and then 100+ on Wirtz? I just can't see this happening. We are getting MGW and that's that for midfield reinforcements.

I can see it. We would have spent that on Grealish and Kane in 2021 if the latter’s brother wasn’t an idiot and we’d have spent it in 2023 on Gvardiol and Bellingham/Rice

Diasgree mate, there are some players going to be leaving that have zero balance on our trading sheet now that will represent pure profit for PSR? Ederson, Ortega, Walker, Stones, Ake, Bernardo, Mcatee and Gundogan would all be clear profit? Then new signings are calculated over the yearly length of their contract so we still have big PSR allowances.

We haven’t needed to spend 80 plus million on two players as our roster was stacked . We are now in rebuild mode and need to be more aggressive. A lot of our spending is going to be dictated by whether Wirtz is willing to come I suspect.

He looks more like a Liverpool player to me. Energetic, hustle, front foot playing and early passing and movement.

Granted, we've acquired some players with this attitude of late ( Kova, Marmoush, Doku , Savio, Nunes) but philosophically, we still play or attempt to play that possession based intricate passing stuff...

So its touch and go for on MGW. If we are switching towards a more high octane quick hitting style, then this will be great. Otherwise, hope for Wirtz etc

Two years left on his deal, rebuffed offers to sign an improved deal up to this point.

Forest might ask for a player to sweeten the pot, especially if we have our own valuation and want him for CWC.

Do you see why city are interested in him tolmie? I must be missing something.
