I don't know the first thing about Wolves' Women's team but someone at the club fucked up. If I were one of the players I'd be extremely disappointed.

They lost one game all season. Came second on the last day to a fully professional Forest side. Wolves women are not professional and found out at the end of the season that Wolves made a decision in February not to back the bid for promotion partly because of the finance involved
Not an admin fuck up but a decision that wasn’t communicated to them.

I was not aware. I do feel bad for the women who worked hard in training and in their matches thinking it counted for something.

For those who are interested, the link is below (the vote for City women’s player of the season). I voted for Hasegawa. Considering the collective subpar performance of the team this season, Hasegawa was almost always our shining player. I always thought that Hasegawa is better than many men when it comes to intelligence, vision, and how she understands the game. Unfortunately, we had that genius coach who insisted on playing her out of her natural position. I sometimes wonder how much we could have benefited from Hasegawa if she was committed to play as our attacking midfielder, similar to her role with Japan’s national team. I do hope she doesn’t move to Barcelona at the end of this season. I will hate to see that if happened, but I really can’t blame her. She is 28 and deserves to win some trophies, including the Champions League, before it is late.

Is there word that Yui's moving to Barca? I haven't seen that.

Btw, I voted for Mary Fowler, for what it's worth.

I've only just caught on, but the Ragettes have 3 league games left: home to Chelsea tomorrow night, they finish away to Arsenal on the last day (Sat May 12th) and sandwiched in between there's the derby match at their place this coming Sunday. They're currently 4 points ahead of us and, as long as Chelsea don't rest all their first-teamers having gone out of the CL and all but sewn up the WSL title, it should remain that way once they've got their game in hand out of the way this week.

IF we can turn them over at the swamp, we could be just a single point behind them going into the final weekend when they're away to Arsenal and we face Crystal Palace.

Could we?
Yeah that’s exactly it mate. It’s far from ideal to have our season relying on United dropping points for us to get a champions league spot but it is what it is and probably the best scenario given how the season has gone with injuries.

If we beat United and they at best get a draw at Chelsea or Arsenal and lose the other, we have to beat an already relegated Crystal Palace and we will finish 3rd.

We’d have made it much easier for ourselves if we didn’t draw against Everton the other week but that’s the narrative of our season.. so many “what ifs”

Think we are currently 4 points behind Utd who play their game in had tonight at home to Chelsea.
If they win tonight then 4th is where we finish with 2 games left. Ideally them to lose and us to beat them but its still in their hand on final day as they will still be a point ahead of us. If the BBC table is correct of course.
Final day they are at Arsenal so always a chance

Mere guessing based on when we had several players left at the end of a bad season, including Keira Walsh and Lucy Bronze who went to Barcelona and won trophies including Champions League. I hope Hasegawa stays at the end.

I am a huge fan of Mary Fowler; still young yet has outstanding potential. She would be my second choice if that was allowed. The difference is that Mary had some really poor games where she was marginal and ineffective (looked like she was disinterested). Hasegawa, on the other hand, was the only player in my opinion to consistently provide excellent performances, regardless of how the other players were poor or how Taylor was clueless. I have nothing against your choice, and I hope Fowler will also stay at the end of this season.

Yeah, we would just need them to draw or lose to Arsenal if they lose to Chelsea and us

However Arsenal are being pumped 4-0 by Villa so….

I think Yui moving to Barcelona close season is highly unlikely especially as her partner only joined her at City in January.

I may have got my vote wrong in hindsight. Yui has been consistently impressive all season, you’re right. Oops!

Big spending Chelsea win 6th title in a row yet never called out as boring by the media.
Rags had the usual 7 minutes somehow added on but lost 1-0
Just had 5 Live on now and the 2 commentators are so far up United Women's teams arse it's unreal. Like listening to Paddy Crerand in terms of balance

Lucy Bronze's header has just pushed open that door leading to Champions League qualification a little bit wider. Now we have to leave it hanging off its hinges by winning at Old Trafford this weekend.

Come on City!
