Gonna be more important than domestic cups soon enough.
When that day comes, teams will be fighting very hard for it.

To that end, City (hopefully) will take it really seriously and try to win it as much as possible before the opportunity to get our names on it diminishes.
Plus ton of money for the club.

Tournament is in USA and usually even through pre-season friendly games we have full stadiums.

Its packed with top teams: Real, Bayern, Inter, Atletico, Chelsea, few top Saudi and Asian teams, Boca, River and even Messi on top of that if fit:)

It could be really fun of the tournament.

We really have to hammer the Saints, for me it is frustrating the Bournemouth match is after the FA Cup final, why couldn’t it have scheduled for the week before or even tomorrow? I agree 70 points should guarantee Champions League next season, unless the Premier League screw us before the end of the season. Frankly don’t give a damn about the Club World Cup, but it is a money spinner.

All we need is a 1-0 win at Southampton ... there are only three games left, Palace have done us a favour tonight by drawing with Forest, and we are now in a good position and not reliant on any other club .... a 1-0 win for us at Southampton, and we'd have only two games left to play then, and a great chance of a Champions League place, and maybe even a 2nd placed finish in the table, depending on Arsenal's form in the run in.

Mind you, this game at Southampton looks to be the easiest of the three games we've got left.

Just get these fucking walloped please Pep and hope the dippers have some fucking pride this weekend and batter the goooooooooooooooooooners

Marmoush hattrick, KDB outside the box screamer, Kovacic with a goal from nowhere and Oreilly, Macca and Foden all with a goal.

8-0, ideally with us going 3-0 up in the first 15 mins so I can enjoy it.

Does anyone really give a toss about the club world cup?
Increasingly, I do.

We have to realise that the game has moved on beyond what we are/were used to. It has become important for us to qualify for the CL - major financial impact and without that funding our plans to develop the squad will be badly impacted.

The revenue from the CWC is significant and the global appeal will increase CITY's brand around the world. The red mardarse clubs go on about how they have a global fanbase - well that grew before the era of the internet and streaming - just imagine how quickly the CITY global fanbase will increase if we keep appearing in the CL and frequently in the CWC

Now, little of any of that might matter to FOCs on here (like me) - but it matters to the CITY executives and therefore I support it. After what they have brought to me/us over the last 17 years they have my total support.

And - the cherry on top is that if you go on rawk you will find loads of comments rubbishing the competition and saying that they are glad that they are not in it - but you know what that really means.....

They bang on about why are CITY in it? - saying that we have no right to be there. In truth they are gutted that we are in it - and that gives me satisfaction;-)

Could be worth £100m plus playing in it and if we can also grab a champions league spot for next season then like you say, extra cash boost in the coffers for squad improvement and hopefully new and improved deals for Gvardiol and O`Reilly.

I have never been on that RAWK but do they crib about Chelsea as well or just us?

I look forward to Pep’s press conference with at least 10 mins on how fantastic the Saints are and how dangerous they are…….. but a

Winning the game is the priority but ideally we boost our goal difference significantly so that we can get the top 5 on only 69 points i.e., a win and 2 draws.

They slag off all the main premier teams - but there is more vitriol for us. It's great - so many posts emphasising that they don't care about us

They care so little it takes 100s of posts to really reaffirm the point

I am due in Southampton station at 1200 - been there often - but being a FOC cannot remember the pubs City fans are allowed in

Any help / suggestions welcome

Referee: Tim Robinson. Assistants: Tim Wood, Steve Meredith. Fourth official: Andy Madley. VAR: Matt Donohue. Assistant VAR: Nick Hopton.

Probably a closer game than many will think as we are pretty impotent up front these days and they always seem to play well against us. Hopefully the post can keep up its recent form for us :)

Wasn't Robinson the **** we had at Luton league away game last season who let them kick us to fuck?

Is this a PiGMOL work experience set of officials?

Apart from Madley I've never heard of any of them.
